"Hey Tatta! Ready for the next game?" Y/N asked excitedly.
"Why are you so excited? You could die," I pointed out.
"Y'know, as long as I'm with you, I'll be fine."
"Haha, yeah..." I laughed nervously. "That's the spirit!"
Y/N still think I'm alive. I died ages ago in the King of Clubs game. They won't believe it but I don't want them to lose hope so I'll stay with them for now.
I'm going to the Queen of Hearts. Are you coming too?" They asked, full of hope.
"Sure," I muttered.

I walked alongside Y/N as they entered the game arena. Mira stepped out and I looked at her in confusion. Mira was the game master all along? It didn't make any sense to me.
"Tatta. Y/N. It's nice to see you again!" Mira smiled.
To win the Queen of Hearts game, we had to play three rounds of croquet without quitting. To be honest, it seemed easy enough but this is a hearts game. Isn't it supposed to be at least a little challenging? I decided to figure out what this was all about. I was going to play to first round.

It wasn't hard at all and I actually ended up winning! Mira suggested that we take a break and have some tea. I thought it was a good idea. Y/N mentioned how strange it was. Mira poured tea into everyone's teacups. Mira started talking about how we are all just playing a game in virtual reality and that if we die in the game, we die in real life. I got invested in the story because it seemed legit. After explaining the story, Mira started laughing. It wasn't true. Dammit. How could I fall for that?

Y/N unsheathed a knife that she had hid. The handle was a nice turquoise and it shimmered in the sunlight. The blade was sharp. It looked sharp enough to cut human skin like paper.
"Y/N, what are you doing?" I asked hesitantly.
They pressed the blade up against Mira's throat.
"I won't let this bitch lie to us again. If she lies, it'll be the end for her."
I couldn't even explain to them how risky this was.

"Y/N, stop. If she dies, then we'll be stuck here forever. We'll never finish the game! I understand your complex emotions and strong hatred towards Mira but she'll take us down with her if she dies." I explain to the good looking person in front of me.
I didn't want to live like this back it's my only choice. I take the knife out of Y/N's hand and place the tip of the blade on their chest.
"You can't do that, Y/N. You'll kill us all." I start to shake.
Y/N looks into my eyes. They've lost all hope. I sink to the floor before Y/N suggest that they should play the next round with Mira. I nod in agreement. Why not? I'm dead anyway.

They played the game and talked to Mira. She is seriously messing with my head. Y/N ended up winning the round of croquet. We all sat down again and Mira said something I never never thought she would say.
"Y/N, this is all in your imagination. You've been hallucinating and you went into an extreme psychosis episode which caused you to imagine this world that you've been lost in. I'm your therapist and my name is Ms. Mira Kano. You have to take this pill to come back into the real world."
My eyes widened and my words got stuck in my throat. Y/N's hand shook as they reached for the pill.
"No!" I shouted.

"Mr Kodai, I must ask to leave. Your session is in twenty minutes," Mira calmly stated.
""Y/N this isn't real. You can't listen to her! I love you. I have loved you ever since I met you but I was too afraid to say anything. So I hid. I hid away. You have to play the final round of croquet or I will never forgive you," I cried.
Mira sighed slowly before telling my one true love that I was lying. I couldn't take it anymore.
"Y/N, I'll tell you the truth when you get out of this hell hole. Please just give me a chance."

Y/N stood up and took my hand. The illusion was too real. They still think that I'm alive. It'll break their poor, fragile heart to hear that I'm dead. Which is why I need Y/N to escape.

"It doesn't matter if this is real or not. What matters is that you've made it all this way and you can't give up now. If you do, then what was the point? You said that you have only made it this far because we're a team and I'm by your side which is true so listen to your heart and finish the game." I burst out in tears.

Y/N stepped back into the borderlands and played the final round of croquet.

"You won, congratulations! Once I die, you will be asked a question. It will explain everything." Mira giggled.

Thud. Mira's lifeless body hit the floor and fireworks shot into the sky. I hugged Y/N so tightly. I wasn't sure if I'd ever see her again.

The last thing I heard was Y/N saying, "I want to leave."

My world crumbled apart.
