After a few days of fun and adventure, it was time for us to head back home. We all got into the RV, said our goodbyes to Jen and Jess, and started our journey back home. The ride was bittersweet as we reminisced about the memories we had made during our stay. Mik and I sat next to each other, holding hands as we watched the scenery outside the window.
The trip back home was tiring, with the long hours on the road and the fatigue from all the activities we had done. Mr. and Mrs. Williams dropped us off at our apartment, and we said our final goodbyes. I hugged them both tightly, feeling grateful for their hospitality and kindness throughout our stay.
As Mik and I walked into our apartment, we were exhausted. We went to our rooms and slept for the entire day. The silence in the apartment was deafening, and I missed the sound of Noah's laughter and Jen and Jess's chatting. It was strange how in a few short days, they had become like family to me.
As I lay in bed, I couldn't help but think about the wonderful memories we had made during our trip. The horse riding, the farm work, the local stores, and the golfing - everything had been so new and exciting.
The next day was a typical day at work and I was wearing my usual skimpy uniform. I had just finished serving a table when I saw someone familiar walk in. It was Randall. He was on a date with a girl from our old school, Naomi Chen.
I walked over to their table and tried to keep a straight face as I took their order. "What can I get for you guys?" I asked, pretending not to recognise Randall.
Randall was clearly surprised to see me in that uniform. "O-Olive?" he stammered.
I smirked. "The one and only. And who's your lovely date?" I asked, turning to Naomi.
"I'm Naomi," she said, eyeing me skeptically.
"I'll have a pepperoni pizza, please," she added.
"And for you, Randall?" I asked, giving him a sly grin.
Randall's eyes widened as he hesitated, clearly feeling a bit uncomfortable. "Uh, just a cheese pizza, please," he finally said.
I couldn't resist playing with him a bit. "Are you sure you don't want some extra toppings?" I asked, leaning in a little closer. "I'm sure I could find something to spice it up for you."
Naomi looked annoyed and cleared her throat, but Randall seemed to be enjoying the attention. "Actually, yeah, let's make it a pepperoni pizza too," he said, grinning back at me.
I rolled my eyes. "Come on, Randall, you're on a date. You shouldn't be flirting with me in front of your girl," I said, trying to inject a little bit of reason into the situation.
Randall shrugged. "Umm I wasn't flirting with you," he said sarcastically.
I couldn't help but laugh at his shamelessness. "Well, you do you, Randall," I said, heading off to put in their order.
As I walked back to the kitchen, I checked the time. It was almost the end of my shift - I only had 15 minutes left to go
