So I just got a call from Josh. Kieran's fucked and my sunshine is unraveling.

I knew this was coming, and if Klaus and Genevieve weren't playing with her hopes and dreams for months she could've spent that time starting the grieving process. Which according to Vincent takes longer than people give you pressure to stop.

And by people I mean my brothers.

At this point, I'm waiting to see if my presence will help or hurt her.

I know for me when Kol died I just wanted to be left alone.

Though some prefer companionship.

Honestly, I could use the excuse to get out of this bloody house.

I hear another crash from the room as Klaus starts smashing shit looking for mother's grimoire that Elijah and myself hid the night before. He won't find it.

Speak of the devil, he decides to stroll into the study to find Klaus tearing it apart and me sitting on a chair reading. Safe to say he was very confused. "Has the world shifted on its axis or are you reading for fun, Talia?" I flipped him off. He laughs and turns to our brother. "Can I help you find something?"

Klaus huffs. "Yes, in fact, I believe you can. I'm looking for a book, about yea big, filled with our mother's most powerful spells. It appears to have been misplaced."

I hold back a snort as Elijah takes a seat next to me. "How very mysterious."

"Perhaps you misplaced it while going behind our backs." What petty bitches we were. I love when Elijah's mad at Klaus. He's so much more fun.

Our brother sucks on his teeth. "Indeed. At first, I feared the witches had succeeded in their efforts to obtain it, but considering their last attempt ended with me relieving a rather large, tattooed gentleman of his hands, I began to wonder if the thief wasn't a bit closer to home." He looks over to the both of us. I push my nose further into a book I haven't actually read a word of while Elijah starts scribbling in a notebook. I briefly look over to see he's written nothing legible. "Don't make this harder than it needs to be, brother, sister."

Elijah caves. "Well, admittedly, I did have a theory that your sudden interest in mother's grimoire was in some way related to whatever, foolishness you've been conducting with the Crescent wolves. Not to forget the sound advice awarded by our lovely sister. Therefore, we took it upon ourselves to carefully place it where naughty little fingers could not pry."

As expected, this answer angered our brother. "And here I thought you, of all people, would understand. I am simply trying to help those wolves! Play Samaritan to the abused. Champion to the underdog, so to speak."

I roll my eyes. "And you clearly haven't been paying attention as the whole point of Elijah's plan was to build peace in the Quarter. What you want is conflict to take advantage of factions at war. I don't feel like doing that, brother, nor will I side with the werewolves who absolutely want to use that power to eradicate the vampires as that's all any other species wants to do on a daily basis. Yet they're the victims."

Elijah nods. "Talia's correct. Say they decide to seek retribution for decades held in exile, and Hayley will find herself in the middle of an uprising. One that will only provoke further violence. You see, you risk turning New Orleans into a war zone, brother. I won't let that happen." The two of us on the same side without force?

Our brother crosses his arms as he glares at me. "What happened to not getting involved?"

I shrug. "I haven't. I'm just giving my loving brother sound advice. I didn't hide mother's grimoire, I just told him to do so and watched where he put it. See, I told you that the only mission we have in common now is Baby Mikaelson, and I fear your war mongering will lead to nowhere good for her. That your actions now will affect her safety."
