“JACK!”

Jack snapped out of his gaze as Steve violently shook him back and forth. His blue past moves past his partner’s worried face and looks out of the hall where Sara was nowhere to be found. He vigorously scans the whole room to find the little girl, only to be met with Max, who also looked like she woke up as well. A small stream slowly poured down his nose, Jack wiped it away to see blood had stained his jacket again. Both Steve and Dustin shared a knowing look. Before anyone can say anything, Nancy and Robin rush inside the school, out of breath and Max leads the group out towards the hall to a dead end.

“It was here. Right here” Max said as they shine their light towards the wall. It was nothing but a concrete wall.

“A grandfather clock?” Nancy questions, Max nods.

“It was so real. And then, when I got closer, suddenly I just… I woke up” Max stated as shivers ran down her spine. The haunting image and dreadful sound is forever cycled in her mind. The red head shifted her flashlight towards the blonde, who stayed in the back and stood silent. “Jack, please tell me you saw something” she pleaded.

“Wait. What does Jack have to do with this?” Robin asked, confused.

“Because he was in a trance or something. They both were. Exactly what Eddie said happened to Chrissy” Dustin answers.

“That's not even the bad part” Max told the group. She led them back into the office but Jack stayed behind, looking at the wall. He slowly made his way and let his fingertips glaze over it, trying to feel something, anything. But nothing. Steve noticed his partner’s absence and went back to get him. He watched him, giving him his own space until he pulled away from the spot. Jack’s eyes land on Steve, who gives him a warm smile. The blonde tried to send one back but failed. Seeing Jack’s expression, he clearly didn’t want to talk. So Steve stood by his side and they walked back to the office.
