This happened to me today. I was so sad, I wanted to cry so bad. Can you guess?
~~~~~
You sat in your living room, watching anime on Netflix. You were watching "My Little Monster" with your boyfriend. [A/N: I recommend if you haven't watched. Even, "Say 'I Love You'", I recommend as well.]
You were cuddled up with your boyfriend and wondering why Yoshida Haru was such a cute guy. He was adorable, but you'd rather stay with Himuro.
Until, you heard something hit the wide window in your living room. Your head snapped towards the source as you saw something black fall. You jumped out of Himuro's embrace and looked around your front yard for anyone.
At first you thought someone threw something and fled, until you looked down and saw a bird lying on its back. You gasped and slipped on your flats.
"(First Name)-chan? What's wrong?"
"There's a bird on the porch!" Was all you said before shutting the door.
You ran over to the bird and slowly lowered yourself. Looking at it trying to fly away, but with no avail it couldn't. You could tell it was scared, so you carefully and slowly cupped your hands together underneath it.
You lifted it as it flailed a little more.
Himuro came up to you and leaned in to see what was in your hands. "A bird?" He asked. "It hit our window, poor thing." you stroked it's back. It reacted by pushing itself against your palm.
"We should probably go inside and give it some water. Let's go to the back and spend some time with it." you nodded and followed his orders.
You stood and waited for Himuro to get water. All you could do was watch the poor thing rest in your palm.
You noticed that it was opening and closing its mouth. You instantly knew that it was trying to chirp, but couldn't. You could only feel more sadness welling up inside of you. You felt supremely sympathetic.
Himuro came out with a bowl of water and sat down on the grass. You followed him down and tilted the bowl so the bird could get some water.
You honestly didn't know what to do in this situation, it had never happened to you before.
You let it have water, but you held it, frozen in place. Your eyes widened and your throat went dry.
"T-Tatsuya.." you spoke, gulping the dryness.
What you saw when the bird drank was something brown coming out, almost like smoke dispersing in air. You saw little blobs of red and knew that blood was coming out of its mouth.
You raised the bird to look at its mouth, you saw blood running down the side.
"Oh... my god." you placed the poor little green bird onto your lap as you felt a burning sensation in your eyes. "Poor thing..." The little bird flapped around, twisting and turning until it stopped.
It laid on its side, eyes open.
"T-Tatsuya.." you called again.
"(First Name)-chan..."
"I-I think it's d-dead." you frowned, trying to stop the tears that were overflowing your vision. "P-poor thing.. If only there was something that we couldn't done..." You sniffled and picked it back up. Looking closely at its lifeless figure.
Toes curled, wings by its side, half-lidded eyes, slightly gaped beak.
You shut your eyes and shook your head, resting your forehead on your wrists and Himuro picked you up.
"I'll go get a shovel, it's gonna be okay, (First Name)-chan." you nodded with your eyes closed as Himuro went to the garage.
You opened your eyes to the bird again. Only feeling grief, If only there was something that I could've done!
You realized that the spot where its beak laid was turning brown. Its blood was now on your hands.
I-it died in my hands... in my reach...
Himuro came back with a shovel and started digging near flowers. He handed you a white box and you gingerly placed the bird in it. Giving one last look, some of your salty tears landed on the bird.
You closed the box and placed it in the hole. Himuro patched it back up and brought you into a tight and secure castle wall.
You buried your face into his shirt, silently crying.
"It's gonna be okay, (First Name)-chan. Things are born, but things die as well..."
"I-it didn't deserve to die...! It hit its head and bled from the inside. It didn't have a voice to speak..." You cried and cried more until it hurt.
"Things just come and go," you sobbed more. "But, I'll always stay."
[A/N: I was actually REALLY SAD. I never experienced something like that in my life. I did feel the same way Reader-chan in here felt. This happened today except replace Himuro with my sisters. The bird was innocent. There was literally the bird's blood on my hand. As disgusting as it sounds, I would do anything to help an injured animal, pick it up or whatever. I didn't care if there was blood on my hand, it's wellness came first. Sadly, it died. I cried.]
