My Home (Mayuzumi x Reader)

"You're leaving?" That was all Mayuzumi Chihirō could remember you saying when you found out he was going to study abroad, a few weeks ago. He could remember the feeling you had when so asking that. He remembered how gingerly you touched his arm when he was about to leave your house, knowing that information. He remembered the tears streaming down your face when he answered, "I am." He didn't think much of it at first; you knowing, him leaving, that was it. But, when it finally came to that, seeing you like that, he just couldn't. He couldn't bear to see his significant other like that.

Back to the present, Mayuzumi's parents were waiting in the car for the both of you to drop him off at the airport. Mayuzumi pushed down the handle of his luggage and slipped on his shoes as you slowly walked down the dark and empty hall, your head hung low.

"Oi," He called directly at you. "stop your moping." He demanded, slightly irritated by your gloomy aura. You huffed and sat down, slipping on your shoes as well.

"'Stop your moping' you say...you're leaving, Chihirō...do you want me to smile?" You said in a passive-aggressive way.

"Yes," he replied, noticing your shoelaces were untied. He knelt down and started tying your laces together, keeping his eyes on your shoes. "it'll only be a few years."

You stared at the top of his head, "'It'll only be a few years', Chihirō, are you listening to yourself?" You refused to cry before, but now it was going to happen. You bit on your bottom lip to keep yourself from crying, but it was useless.

Warm tears rolled down your cheeks as you clenched your teeth, the pain of him not even being bothered by any of this is what you hated about him. He was never the one to show much emotion, and you hated it.

"I hate you...you idiot." You used your balled hand to lightly hit him on the top of his head, but he didn't reply. He stood up and picked up his light-weight carry-on and pulled out the handle of his luggage. He turned his back to you, heading out the door only saying a few words before leaving.

"Come on, we're going to be late." then he just closed the door like that, leaving you inside.

Again, you sat there in the dark and empty house, all alone. Could you really wait a few years for him?

Later you arrived at the airport.

During the car ride there, everyone was quiet- well, only you and your boyfriend was, his parents spoke to each other and you two separately. Both of you only gave one word answers. Mayuzumi watched the world go by as you did as well, though, in a more deep thought and sad way. The looks on your face were different, though the things running on both of your minds were the same however.

It was near the time of his departure, it was now or never that you were going to speak to him. But, what were you going to say? You didn't know, you just wanted to say something to him.

Before that something could come out, he spoke to you first. "What do you usually do when I'm gone?" He asked, his eyes focused out the window.

Everything felt like time had slowed down, like it was just the two of you in a big place.

"I usually..." You looked down at the ground, somewhat ashamed that you were going to say this to someone like him, "...wait for you to come home..." you shook your head at the end, again biting your bottom lip.

To be honest with you, Mayuzumi was surprised. He had expected something like, "I go on with my life." But no, it was completely different. He didn't know what to say, what to do.

Then, the flight attendant announced that the plane was ready. One by one, everyone lined up with their assigned tickets.

Mayuzumi stood up without a word, stepping in front of you. He then knelt down and held both of your cheeks, making you look at him.

"Wait for me," he inhaled deeply and dropped his gaze, "you're my home, (First Name). I'll always come home."

So, I basically lost the end of this one-shot.

Um, I won't be updating that much, I'm not sure, one of my family members passed away yesterday. So, I'm not sure when I'll update. I couldn't even go to school today because I was emotionally unstable. But, I'm okay, now.
