They say that you should never choose a relationship over your friends, especially your best friend. However, did that rule really apply when your best friend was already angry at you? Did it apply when you had a hand in killing their father? Did it apply when you've been lying to them for months regarding your deepest secrets? To be honest, Molly wasn't entirely sure.

The day after the fight at the Mahkent house, Molly felt worse than she had ever felt. There had been no word from Cameron, which wasn't really surprising. He finally knows that she has powers. Part of her felt relieved, but she mostly felt guilty. That was the worst possible way for Cameron to find out the truth. Her and Courtney were going to explain everything calmly to him, answering any questions he had. Lily Mahkent storming into the room and Rick starting a fight with Cameron ruined everything.

Rick was currently at the Chapel's house so Beth's mother could assess any signs of damage or broken bones. The JSA, including Artemis, cleared out of the Mahkent house before the ambulance arrived to take Sofus to the hospital. Instead of staying at her house, Molly urged Rick to go with Beth to her house so her mother could keep an eye on him. Yes, Tessa was a nurse, but she worked the night shift at the hospital. She wouldn't be home in case something happened throughout the night.

With a heavy heart because of last night's events, Molly parked in front of the Chapel's house. She was worried about her friendship with Cameron, wondering if it could ever be repaired. She was worried about Rick due to his injuries and addiction to the hourglass. It was starting to change his personality, which she would never want to happen. She really needed to find a way to get him to take it off and fix the Limiter. Before he did any more damage to himself.

Molly got out of her car and quickly crossed the street to the Chapel's house. She skipped a step as she darted up to their porch and walked to the front door. Her hand came up and knocked on the door while rocking back in her heels, eager to see Rick.

When the door opened, she was greeted by Beth, who did not look very happy. In fact, she looked very worried and tired. Molly looked at her concerned while asking, "What is it? What happened?"

Beth just shook her head before replying lightly, "I'm sorry."

"Where's Rick?" Molly immediately asked her, her worry starting to increase anymore.

"He's not here. He stormed out about ten minutes ago."

"What?!" Molly asked her incredulously. She spun around to look out into the neighborhood as if Rick was just hiding in the bushes somewhere. The odds of that were very slim. She knew that he was long gone.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Beth take a couple of steps forward so she was standing next to her. She heard her friend apologize again quietly, "I'm really sorry, Molly."

Her words caused Molly to turn back towards her. She let out a small breath, trying to ease her worry. While shaking her head, she assured her, "No, Beth. It's not your fault. You and your parents did what you could. I just... I don't understand what that hourglass is doing to him."

Beth watched her sadly as she sunk down to sit on the steps of the porch, holding onto the railing for support. As Beth sat down next to her, Molly felt grateful to have her, knowing that she knew the full truth about how Molly felt towards Rick. It was very comforting.

"What happened?" Molly asked her.

"I told my parents about how the hourglass has been affecting him because he's been wearing it for too long. I started noticing him acting weird too. He had another one of his headaches you told me about before we went to the Mahkent house. We tried to get him to take it off, but... he got angry. He kept saying he was fine but... I think he knows he's not deep down. We brought up how he hurt Courtney and... we talked about you-"
