WARNING: this chapter will contain mature (18+) content. I might've gotten a little carried away because it's long lmao. In my opinion, it really isn't too bad, but if you are still not comfortable with it, do not read after the warning later on in the chapter!

ALSO, Molly & Rick are BOTH of the legal age consent & their actors are both young adults so please no comments about how they're only in high school or how they're too young or any other comments of the sort that you can think of! Thanks and enjoy (:

To be honest, this was the last way Molly would've expected to end up in Rick's room.

Once the two of them managed to somehow pull away from each other, Rick didn't say anything as he turned around and led her down the hallway. Molly fiddled with her thumbs nervously as he opened the door at the end of the hallway, motioning for her to go inside. When she walked in, part of her couldn't help, but become sad. There wasn't much inside. His room consisted of a tall dresser, a night stand, and a full-size bed. The only light in the room came from the small, ancient lamp next to his bed. There was a laundry hamper in the opposite corner of the room. The room was a little untidy, clothes on the floor and the sheets hanging off the bed. Her jaw clenched as her mind wandered to Rick's uncle. How could this be all that he gave Rick?

"This is your room?" Molly let slip out. She immediately felt stupid. Out of everything she could've said... she went with the most obvious thing?

"Yeah," Rick replied from a couple of feet behind her. When she heard the door close behind her, she turned around to get a better look at him. He couldn't even meet her gaze as he took off his jacket and threw it down on his bed, his eyes focusing down at his feet. Then, he asked her, "Do... do you want to sit down?"

"Sure," Molly replied quietly. The two of them walked over to sit down on the edge of his bed. Her heart began to flutter in her chest just simply from his knee grazing hers. It was insane. She didn't think it was possible for your body to react to the lightest touches just from being in love with someone. Her body couldn't help it.

The two of them sat in silence, unsure how to even begin a conversation. Molly looked down at her lap, where her thumbs were fiddling with each other. Finally, she heard Rick ask her quietly, "Are you okay?"

"I think I should be asking you that," Molly answered, not turning to look at him.

"Please," She heard him beg, causing her to look up at him in surprise. Before she could even ask, he squeezed his eyes shut as he pleaded, "Please tell me you're okay."

That's when she understood. Rick needed to hear her say that she was okay. Her heart felt as if it lurched up in her throat, causing her to swallow and nod her head while assuring him, "I'm okay."

The look of relief that spread across his face nearly brought tears to her eyes. This whole time... he's been worried about her? In her opinion, she's the last thing that he should be worried about. Molly gulped nervously as she managed to get out, "Are... are you okay?"

His gaze couldn't even meet hers as he tugged his bottom lip between his teeth. The bruises from the night at the Mahkent house had begun to heal, but they were still visible. They didn't seem to be bothering him, but the sight of them still made her heart ache. Then, he whispered so quietly that she barely heard him, "I'm not myself."

Molly's lips parted slightly in shock as a visible shiver ran through him as he clenched at the edge of the mattress. Before she could speak a word, he shakily continued, "I thought taking out the Limiter would help me. At first, I felt... indestructible. I'd kept failing at fixing the hourglass and... being worthless to the team. All that mattered to me was feeling whole again. Feeling like I didn't let my dad down because I destroyed the one thing I had left of him."
