Allyson's POV.

My eyes opened when a streak of warm light pass through a window. The familiar bumping and vibration of the cushion. I realized I was at the backseat.

Vision is getting blurry and unstable, I had no choice but to press my face through the glass - I saw birds, cows, and other critters frolicking on the grassy field, eventually leaving my sight as the car pass by.

Clouds forging one to another, shadows of trees intertwining. This truly feels...

 This truly feels

..warm.

The morning was about to put to me at ease, until someone spoke. A voice from the front seat.

" Oh, you're awake now. "

Her voice pinches something in my mind.

" You must be hungry.... Here, have some waffles." She handed me a plate of waffles.

"Evelyn...." I call her name.

It's my aunt. I remember now. We're supposed to head to that place, but I'm not sure.

I asked if it's close which she smiled back, looking at me through the reflection of the mirror. Her black hair brushed her cheek from the wind passing through a tiny gap of a window.

" Not yet. "

She said while reaching to turn the radio on. Buzzing and adjusting the frequency. She then twist the knob towards her favorite program..

" Don't worry Ally, we'll arrive sooner to the cabin. " She added. She must've noticed me getting silent out of nowhere.

At my lap, I took the waffles - topped with whipped cream and fresh slice of strawberries. I placed one into my mouth.

I can't taste it.

" What's wrong? " She asked.

I looked at her reflection before saying nothing. Her eyes frown for a moment. She looks troubled. I wonder why? I can't quite remember.

As I was eating the waffles that tasted nothing, I notice her giving flew glances at me before speaking

" I know it's sudden to leave our old house your mother rented. " She added. I didn't answer back. It's clear she was worried of me.

All I can do for her is to smile.

The silence didn't last long when we arrived at the road leading to a forest. It eventually pass through the tall dense tress in front of a cabin next to a small lake. Me and Evelyn exits the car as I gaze the scenario outside.

I took a deep breath.

" Allyson, be careful when walking. You might trip from the roots. " Evelyn warned while carrying the boxes as she headed towards the cabin.

I followed her and saw someone standing at the porch.

" Oh my. Evelyn you actually came back!" It was Grandpa. The old man happily approached her daughter.

" Hi Dad. Long time no see." They hugged. The old man chuckled as he took the boxes in her hand.

" How's your life here? " Evelyn asked.

" Ahh, quiet as ever. Yesterday, I fell into the water ought to catch some trout. Haha. ". Grandpa laughs. Evelyn gave a worried look.

" Are you sure you're fine? The lake is deep. You might loose something. For example - your teeth. ". She jokingly said.

The jolly old man stares at Evelyn and replied.

" Ha! Nothing beats the old fishermen here! I lost my teeth, wouldn't be good to catch a Karp smiling with a pair of teeth." Grandpa laughs.

I'm getting worried about his health.

" And how's my Little Ally doing?" He asked me and patting my head.

I smiled back at Grandpa.

" I'm fine. " I replied. Evelyn placed the last remaining boxes on the wooden table at the porch, she then removed her gloves.

" Sorry for the trouble Dad. You sure letting us to stay here?" Evelyn asked.

" Hmmm.. Its okay, I'm willing to help. Besides, I can teach this shrub some few forest tricks." Grandpa tries to carry me but stops.

Oh no..Am I getting heavy?

" By the way Evelyn, are you going back to London after this?" Grandpa asked Evelyn. A wry smile forms in her face. She seemed to process her final thoughts.

"I won't go back. I have to take care Allyson."

She walks towards me - a sense of melancholic caress her face.

" Starting today, we'll be living with your Grandfather. Are you fine by that?" I smiled back at her.

" Yep. "

Wrapping my hands around her neck, I let her know that it's totally fine for me.

" Aight, It's still early. I'll go make breakfast. ". Evelyn exclaimed.

Thus my days started - New life, new home. But sadly it won't happen again.

...

After all, it was only a fleeting dream~
