We were fine. She smiled for what felt like the first time in ages. Her smile was genuine unlike the ones she'd previously pull. Of course that didn't last long. In only seconds that rare sight contorted into frustration.I know the words I say hurt. Every time I see her face contort into that heart stricken look my heartstrings tug, but that's a cost I'm willing to pay to keep her safe. I know that she wants to live amicably, I hear her cries. However, I can't help but doubt her every word unless laced with venom.
I know she wants an explanation . Stanford doesn't go a day without nagging me to explain everything to her. I wouldn't mind, but if she knew the truth of that clouded form she'd be revolted. The sinister thoughts that plague my mind are a result of that growing beast. Where the mere scent of her turns me mad, I don't even want to imagine the taste. I don't want to be anymore a monster than I already am, which is why I refuse to act upon my nature. Why I refuse to entangle myself further with her...because if I do there'll be no going back.
