Chapter 58 Rest Up

*Bakugou POV*

We cleared and caught all the "wannabe" villains that were helping Gin continue the Berserker experiments.

But there is still no sign of Nana or Gin anywhere and I'm loosing my mind.

"Any sign of her yet?" Jiro asked. 

My growl in response was enough of an answer for her.

"Have you heard from the others?" I asked as I stretch my shoulder and hop from one foot to the other, trying to shake off the tension that had taken over me only seconds ago.

"No, but I heard the teachers confirm the Yakusa are working with the league and there going to need back up from other hero agencys"

"Tsk"

Today was the day UA and the Nighteye Agency were moving in to find Eri. It was also the perfect day for Gin to try to take Nanami amongst the chaos happening in UA. Which we had predicted would happen.

Apparently, Principle Nezu asked the brain washing extra to place some commands in Daiki to provide Gin with the intel of taking Nanami on that day.

Everything went according to plan. We would have found their hide out eventually, but we were able to move a lot faster thanks to the tracking pin I asked Yayoruzo to make for Nanami during our last training exercise.

We finally had the upper hand on this one, they finally played the pieces we wanted them to play, but it doesn't mean shit if he got away and took Nana with him.

what if she's hurt?

She's strong. I remind myself. She is smart.

She's fine.

I press my palms into my eyes and release a shaky breath.

What if she's...

My breath starts to quicken.

"Easy there" Jiro placed a hand on my shoulder. "She's gotta be here."

I nodded before I pulled my shoulder out of her grasp.

"Yeah well, it wouldn't be the first time we basically had him and yet he got away"

"Its different this time" Jiro shook her head. "Each time we have gone after him, he has taken a hit, weather it was taking his numbers, his facilities. each time we have left him with less and less resources"

"How many times is it going to take?" I snapped at her. "We are useless if we cant shut down guys like this the first time."

"Look at the league" I continued. "The fact they keep pulling off bigger stunts and escape from us just encourages other villains to do the same!"

"Your right" All Might spoke from behind me.

I spun to face him and was instantly filled with emotion as my eyes stung.

Cradled in his arms was Nanami and in that moment I didn't care about the league, about villains, and suddenly the need to find Gin lessened.

All Might came up to me and placed Nanami in my arms. She was unconscious.

I didn't trust myself to speak with out letting my emotions run away from me, so instead I simply pulled her close and met All Mights eyes.

"She did good" He smiled fondly at Nana then pointed a thumb behind him where Ectoplasm had Gin cuffed and secured. "She gave it her all to make sure he didn't get away again"

"Course she did" I smiled.

"You kids should go back" All Might advised. "Take Nanami straight to recovery girl, I have a feeling she is going to have her hands full with the Yakusa team as well"

I nod before turning and making my way out with Nanami and Jiro.

Before we make it out the door, Nanami stirs within my arms "hmm" She opened heavy lidded eyes as she searched my face.

"No!" She blurted as she tried to sit up straight. "Ahh" she winced as she reached for her left shoulder"

"Hey!" I barked without letting go of her. "Easy!"

She kept shuffling.

"Easy" I repeated.

"Whats wrong?" Jiro asked.

"Gin!"

"He is already in custody" I told her.

Relief washed over her face as she slumped into me again, tucking her head in my neck."Thats good" she exhaled.

"Rest up" Jiro smiled.

"No!" Nanmi rattled again.

"Geez" I snapped. "What now?! Rest damn it!"

"I can't!!" She pushed against me, but I refuse to let go of her.

"Like hell you can't!" I shoved against her kicking legs and pulled her even tighter against me. "Go to sleep!"

"I want to be awake for this part!" She whined.

"This part?" Jiro asked. not bothering to to hide her own smile as relief warmed her eyes.

"This part!" Nanami argued in a way that pulled at something in my chest and had my eyes glossing over as a slightly hysterical chuckle escapes my lips.

"It always ends the same" She insisted. Unaware of the soul deep happiness that hearing her and feeling her warmth is causing me.

"I always pass out after an important fight and wake up in the schools clinic bedroom!" She rambled.

"The first time you guys saved me, I only remember waking up and seeing you" Her golden eyes met mine.

"Then I almost transformed in the school and Midnight had to knock me out!"

She had resorted to counting off the incidences with her fingers.

"Then the last tim-" I had just planned to nudge her head with mine and get her to stop rambling, but having her so close, my lips found hers the way magnets pull together by themselves when they are close enough.

"Yack!!!" Jiro complained.

Nanami smacked her lips in a tight line as she leaned away from me slightly and tried suppressing a smile, but she finally stopped her flailing and trying to get me to let her go.

"You look pretty awake now" I chuckled.

"I can walk though" she mumbled quietly.

"Not a chance" I smiled.
