Chapter 30 Lights

Bakugou's POV

"Mom?" Nanami furrowed her brow.

She places her hands on my shoulder and nods toward the door before saying "I should go check on her"

She starts sliding off the counter. Her body presssing against mine until her feet touched the floor.

She peeked up at me through full lashes and a knowing smile curled her lips.

Realizing my delay, I abruptly step back and clear my throat. "Right"

She gave a small twirl and headed towards the door.

When she was nearly out I added "I didn't, you know"

She looked back over her shoulder, pulling her brows together and tilting her head to one side.

"I didnt save you... " I shake my head. "Not really"

I dropped my gaze. "You saved yourself, by fighting and not giving up"

"I might have helped you get out of there" I met her golden eyes. "But your strength saved you"

Pink tinted her cheeks and a soft smile lined her lips.

She gave me a quick nod and continued out the door.

As soon as shes out I run my hands through my hair and ball them into fist as I exhale.

What the hell was I thinking! I scolded myself.

Why did I... kiss her?

The fresh memory stirred something within me. Her soft lips, how she tasted, how she felt in my arms and the small barely audible moan that escaped her lips.

Again. I thought.

I want to hear it again, hold her again.

"Tsk!" I shake my head and ignore the turmoil in my chest.

Focus!

I leaned on the counter, griping in tightly.

Didn't I learn my lesson after what happen with All Might!?!

The lights, that had been off the entire time in the house, begin to flicker.

A frown tugged on my lips.

What the?

Suddenly all the lights in the house roared to life. the atmosphere shifted. I can feel electrical energy all around me, touching my skin, warning me.

The light bulbs ring, burning brightly as if they cant hold the energy coursing through their copper wires.

A fuse goes out and a bulb bursts, glass shattering on the floor.

My heart drops.
