A bubble filled my chest. It was filled with excitement, determination, and a clear path, but then
Reality popped that bubble when I remembered the monster caged inside of me, the one I cant control.
Seeing the change in my face my mom abruptly stands from the table.
"Kira Nanami!" she said sternly.
Hearing my full name makes me sit straight and I cant help but feel like I was about to get scolded.
"If something is stopping you from becoming who you want to be, you cant..." she hesitated as she tried to find the right words.
"You cant throw up walls and hide yourself away... You are surrounded by people that are willing to help you, willing to hear you out at least" she said as she pointed her chin towards Bakugou.
"Like that boy for instance"
I divert my gaze and my heart flutters.
"He cares about you Kira, don't push him away" she continues.
"What ever your going through, I can tell its a 'Not telling mom' thing, and I wont push it peanut, but only if you promise you will tell someone else."
"U.A is a top tier school, its faculty is filled with pro heroes, and promising future heroes. Do not assume they will not help you through this, no matter what it is."
"They are the good guys remember" She gave me a knowing smile.
"They don't trust me at the school mom, they think I am a spy, that I am hiding something" I explained.
"Are you hiding something?" she questioned.
I found myself unable to answer her because I was hiding something from them.
My demon.
"I am.." I looked down at my hands ashamed.
"Then..." she said lightly. "They are right not to trust you"
My eyes shot up at her.
"Come clean peanut" she recommended.
"No matter how bad it is, keeping it inside and hiding it from those around you will be worse."
Shes right
"If you come clean, they will help you and then its up to them to trust you or not, but now you really wouldn't be hiding anything."
I let out a chuckle when I realize how much better I feel at just the thought of coming clean.
"You're right" I smiled.
"Am I ever not?" She teased.
Now it was my turn to stand up from the table.
I reached for my mom and pulled her in for a tight hug.
"Love you mom" I said as I took a deep breath, inhaling her lavender scent.
"I love you too peanut"
