Chapter 7 Like You

*Bakugou POV*

"I've got Nanami! We're coming up!" I advised over the coms.

"I think I hear them coming" The most annoying voice says as we make our way to the top of the stairs.

Deku comes to get us, looking worried and pathetic as always. "Hey! You guys alright?"

As if he would have to worry about someone like me!

He must of realized what to the sight of him did to me because he redirects his attention towards Nanami.

"Oh my god" was all he could say after seeing her injuries. He leans in and stretches his hand out towards her.

"Is she alrig-ht-t-t-t-t-t-t" he stuttered as an electric zap stops him in his tracks.

Now the field circled Nanami and I. Leaving Deku to experience the full blast alone.

"Ha! Stay out of my way you damn nerd" I warned.

I tried to suppress my smile, but failed as I look down at Nanami from the corner of my eye.

Oh I like you.

We meet up with the others just as the police have loaded the last of the criminals into the van.

"Did we get all the bastards?" I asked.

"Not all of them" Kirishima confessed.

"We took out most of the ones on the second floor. Thanks to Midnight and Kaminari it was easy work to knock out large groups of villains, but it was a little harder when back up got here. They cant use their quirks as freely when both sides are on the same floor" he explained.

"What about the Winged idiot?" I asked Mr. Aizawa.

"When their back up showed up, they were able to take him, but they were definitely pissed off about not getting to the basement." His eyes drifted towards Nanami.

"They really wanted that girl, their men died to get her back. We underestimated them and underestimated her value to them." I can see his narrowed eyes are full of suspicion.

Instinctively, I pull Nanami closer to me in the uncomfortable silence.

"Bakugou" Midnight starts as she steps in between Aizawa and I.

"This girl needs medical attention, please take her to the ambulance right away" she requested.

I give a slight nod and find the ambulance outside.

"You are safe now" I told the girl in my arms before placing her on the stretcher in the ambulance.

"They aren't going to hurt you" I promised.

I placed her down carefully, never looking away from her face to be sure she wasn't in any pain.

"Excuse me, young man!" A voice called.

I turn to face the paramedic.

"You should get yourself checked out as well, you have experienced burns throughout your entire body." He noted.

My anger arrived quickly this time. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!" I yelled.

My outburst catching the paramedic off guard.

"THIS IS NOTHING!! I'M FINE!"
