CHAPTER 24

"SO, how does it feel to finally have her?" Cross' attention shifted to Jade as she sat next to him. He was busy watching Chloe and the others having fun in the pool when Jade came up to him.

"Why the heck are you asking me that question?" She chuckled, took her glass of juice and took a sip on it before answering.

"Well, I'm just so curious."

"Since when did you start having interest in my life?"

"C'mon, Cross. You know I care about you so don't be like that. To be honest, I'm more concerned about her right now though." She answered while her gaze focused on the girls in the pool who were currently playing volleyball.

Everyone just finished eating lunch and the other guys were still playing billiards.

"You don't have anything to be concerned about. We're happy and that's the most important thing."

"Okay then. If that's the case, I'm guessing that you already told her everything?" The tension within him quickly arose that he couldn't answer right away.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He uttered the moment he gathered himself together. She rolled her eyes.

"You know what I'm talking about so don't give me that. Even though you never told us about it, we know. We're your childhood friends. I'm just afraid of the outcome of what you're doing right now." He released a breath.

"If you're aware about it then you should know too that hurting Chloe is the last thing I would do. Don't worry about anything. I know what I'm doing. I can handle this." Cross ruffled her hair and then stood up to join the other guys.

"Hey, I'm not done talking to you yet." He chuckled amusedly. Knowing her, she would only bombard him with a series of questions so it would be better for him to join the guys.

"You know what? You should just join the girls in the pool instead of interviewing me like one of your patients." He saw her roll her eyes and he laughed before shaking his head.

"Hey, birthday boy. We thought, you were just going to stay there and watch your girl the whole day." Troy said the moment he approached them.

"Well, Chloe is hot. Someone might snatch her away from him that's why he's keeping his guard up." Raven butted in while laughing.

"What do you think of me? Obsessive boyfriend?"

"Aren't you?" Grey asked with a smirk.

"Of course not!" The guys laughed because of his reaction. "Quit laughing and just continue playing." While watching the game, I couldn't stop myself from throwing glances at Chloe's direction and seeing her enjoying made him smile.

CHLOE got distracted of playing upon noticing Jade approaching Cross. They were talking with serious expression on their faces. She knew that there wasn't anything going on between them but her chest tightened for some reason upon seeing them together. She groaned inwardly.
