CHAPTER 49

CROSS continued serenading her and all the while, Chloe was getting emotional. No one has ever done this for her before, and it was such a sweet gesture.

Well, knowing Cross, he was full of surprises.

I wanna bathe with you in the sea

Until the sky falls down on me

When the song ended, he bended on his knee and brought out a small red velvet box. That was when her eyes watered in overwhelming happiness.

"From the first time I've lain my eyes on you, you made my world upside down. You made me feel those strange feelings that I've never thought I would experience. I had the difficulty understanding what was happening to me but in the back of my mind, I already had a hunch of what it was.

"I just didn't want to admit it. Until I finally gave in. But even so, I became a coward and didn't pursue you right away, thinking that you might be happier with someone else than to be with the likes of me.

"But fate proved me wrong and brought you to me unexpectedly. Now that you're finally mine, I will never let you go, and I mean it." He took a deep breath and opened the little box. It was such an elegant ring and obviously worth a fortune.

"Ms. Chloe Winters Rosenberg, will you marry me?" That was when her tears of joy fell as she couldn't contain her happiness.

While he was asking that question, he was staring directly into her eyes beggingly as if he was worried that she would change her mind and say no. She wanted to say yes but her emotions were too strong.

"Cariño, please don't cry. You're scaring me."

She chuckled and wiped her tears. "I'm sorry. I'm just overwhelmed with so much happiness right now that's why I couldn't answer right away." She nodded her head. "Yes, cariño. I'm going to marry you whenever you want, wherever you want."

His face instantly brightened as if he just received the most beautiful news that he had ever heard. With a smile on his face, he put the ring on her finger, and it fitted perfectly.

He then stood up, cupped her face, and kissed her with all the love he had for her. It was such a sweet kiss.

"Yes! She said yes!" He then yelled and Chloe's cheeks went red when they heard the cheering from the people at the party and probably from the rest of the people on the island.

"Everyone heard that?"

He smirked. "Of course, cariño. Everyone should know how happy we are right now and celebrate with us." Then, he raised his hand, motioning for her to look up and to her surprise, colorful fireworks started covering the sky.

It seemed that the fireworks were coming from the different parts of the island and the magnificent colors illuminated everything.

They were special kinds of fireworks that creates different designs up the sky the moment they explode. There were even heart shapes and many more and it was so gorgeous.

"Wow. Beautiful."

"This is for you, cariño."

She looked at him in wonder. "You're the one behind this?"
