Cordelia
I was dealing with a patient when it happened. A wave of nausea hit me and I became overcome with the feeling that I was about to throw up. I pushed open the doors to the cubicle and ran for the toilet. Lexi was close behind me. I felt her gentle hands pull my hair up away from my face as I emptied my stomach.
"Dee?" she asked softly. I looked up at her tender smile.
"Yeah?" I croaked, leaning against the wall of the cubicle.
"I think we might need to do a pregnancy test?" She said trying to contain her excitement.
"What?" My head was spinning and I couldn't really make sense of the situation.
"Trust me, I was just like this before I found out," I grabbed her hands as she pulled me up off the floor. Her bump was small: only three months. "Come on," She walked with her arm linked in mine as we made our way to the doctor.
"Good thing we work in a hospital," I said with a chuckle.
They laid me down on a bed as the doctor scanned my body with his wand. A version of my body floated above me. It was clear as day. A red glow illuminated from my womb. I reached up to touch it but as I did the projection vanished. "You're about three weeks pregnant," the doctor said. "Congratulations."
I sat up on the bed and looked at Lexi. Her eyes had teared up and she rushed over to hug me. "I can't believe it!" I said to her.
"Our kids are gonna be best friends," She said excitedly.
"I- I need to tell Mattheo! Now!" I said getting off the bed.
"Yes," the doctor said. "You're excused from the remainder of the day. Who were you reporting to today?"
"Dr Greenford," I said.
"I'll let her know," he smiled. "Come back for a check up in a couple of weeks,"
"Will do," I said before leaving the room with Lexi.
"Right, no apparating or floo whilst your pregnant, I'll drive." She offered.
"I can drive," I said getting my keys out. She grabbed them from me.
"No, you need to rest, so let me drive."
"Okay, fine." I sulked dropping into the passenger side.
She said starting the engine and driving off. It was about twenty minutes until the gates of our manor came into view. They opened for us and we began the decent down the driveway. "Will he be home?"
