"Wow! That was incredible," Cordelia moaned, placing her cutlery together on her plate. I chuckled from across the table. "What?" she smiled.
"You're cute," I said, taking a sip of my red wine. She rolled her eyes, grabbing her wine glass as well.
"I also don't understand why you insisted on the most expensive bottle on the menu," she said tapping her wine glass with her nail twice. I smiled again over the rim of my glass.
"Does it bother you?" I asked. "Darling, you are my wife, of course I want to spoil you. Only the very best for you." I grabbed her hand across the table. She blushed and looked away.
"You're cute," she said, repeating my words back at me. I brushed my thumb over her knuckles as she ran her foot up against my leg. The feeling caught me off guard and I gave her a look of warning.
"Careful, you're playing a dangerous game there," I said.
"I'm always playing a dangerous game," she said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes and moved my leg away from hers, readjusting my trousers around my crotch. I called over for the bill and settled up.
Hand in hand, we walked around the streets of Rome, soaking in the Italian night life. Despite being in the muggle world, it didn't feel any less magical. I thought I wasn't going to enjoy living a slightly muggle life but so far, it's been enjoyable. Knowing that my father-in-law is a muggle might have encouraged me to make more of an effort in understanding their world. We came across a fountain and Cordelia immediately rushed towards it.
"Do you have any change?" she asked. My hands sat in my pockets, I rummaged around until I found a few galleons in my pocket. I held them out to her. "Babe, I can't throw a galleon into the fountain, do you not have a sickle or a knut?"
"No, it's that or nothing," I said. She reluctantly grabbed one. She knelt on the wall of the fountain with her eyes closed. She gave the coin a kiss before tossing it into the water. It splashed with a plop and she watched it sink to the bottom.
"Your turn," she turned with a wide smile. I scoffed before coming to kneel beside her. I wished on the coin before tossing it in the water, feeling silly as I watched it sink. "What did you wish for?"
"If I told you, it wouldn't come true," I said kissing her nose.
"Very well," she laughed. Suddenly she started to rub her arms. I noticed the goosebumps forming on her skin.
