Scorpius Malfoy was turning seven

Scorpius Malfoy was turning seven. As much as he bragged to all the other kids that he was older than them, it was only by a few months. I came down the stairs to see Delphia ready by the fireplace whilst Marcus rushed towards me.

"Mummy, hurry up!" she wined.

"I'm just coming," I said, grabbing Marcus's shoes and helping him put them on. He ran away to join her excitedly by the fireplace. "Have you got his gift?"

She held up a blue gift bag with silver tissue paper poking out from the top. "Yep!" she answered.

"Okay, hold my hands," I grabbed hold of both her and Marcus. "Delphi, you can do the honours." We stepped into the fireplace as Delphia grabbed a hand full of floo powder. "Remember to speak clearly,"

She nodded before shouting "Malfoy Manor!" She threw her fist down and spilled the powder onto the floor of the fireplace. We disappeared in a cloud of green smoke and re-emerged in the dining room of Malfoy Manor. Green and gold balloons filled the space around us and we had to wade our way through with great difficulty just to find anyone. "Hello!" Delphia shouted once she made it into the foyer where more banners and decorations had been put up.

Astoria came into view with a wide grin on her lips. "Well, hello there," she bent down to Delphia's level to give her a hug.

"This is for Scorpius!" Delphia held out the gift bag to her.

"How about you give it to him yourself? He's out in the garden with the other kids," she said. Delphia nodded before running through the rest of the house to find him. "Scorpius is going to be thrilled that you guys made it," she turned to me.

"We wouldn't miss it!" I said, picking up Marcus and holding him against my hip.

"Come on, we're all in the kitchen," she explained. I followed her lead to meet the other parents. Leon was deep in a conversation with Draco and Enzo as they sipped on something that I was sure wasn't apple juice. Blaise had brought Luna with him this time and were sat with Theo and Daphne at the kitchen island. I placed Marcus down and he immediately ran to his Godfather: Draco, who picked him up with a big grin and ruffled his hair. Lexi came up to me first to give me a bone-crushing hug.

"Where's your man at?" she asked noticing that I came alone.

"Work," I said with a tight lip smile. "He's out of the country right now."

"Well that sucks," she said pouring me a glass of white wine.

"Sure does," I agreed, taking the glass from her. I peered out into the garden and noticed a big white marque up with more parents talking outside. "Who else is here?" I asked.
