Marcus

I was now in my Fifth year at Hogwarts, which meant my fifth year of being a disappointment to my parents. Of course they would never admit it. They'd tell me how proud they were of me for trying my hardest and all the rest of the bullshit. But I knew deep down how they truly felt. Delphi is amazing. Top of all her classes and when she graduates this year, she's going to get an incredible job and my parents will be so proud. And then there will just be me. The other child. The disappointment. The one who could hardly read. I was sorted into Slytherin, which I guess I was kind of pleased about. At least there was some distance between my sister and me.

I'd made friends in my first year with little trouble. Of course, there were a few kids who had it out for me when they learned about my grandfather. I'd heard the stories. No matter how much my Dad steered clear of the subject. I could never escape my blood. It didn't effect Delphi and she never asked questions. But I was always curious. I had a black eye for a week from one kid named Thomas- him and his Gryffindor gang didn't like me at all. In fact they made it their mission to cause me pain for the whole of First year and half of Second. Until, I grew taller, resembled my father and his father before him (at least in his early years before the balding... and the loss of his nose). I guess it scared them off a little bit. Despite my Dad being a hero during the War, there was always going to be a minority that just couldn't get past the stigma.

Now in fifth year, I had a tight knit circle of friends who I trusted dearly. Henry Holloway was the first friend I made and one I shared a dorm with. He made up 1/5 of our group. Arlo Greengrass-Nott was the son of Daphne and Theo but I wasn't ever that close with him. Not like Delphi was with Scorpius, Charlie, and Albus. But it wasn't until Third year that we finally clicked and became good friends.
