Cordelia

The castle didn't look the same. It stood there, looming over Hogsmeade like a malevolent creature, waiting to strike down its next victim. Dementors, prowled around the perimeters, floating like burnt edges of paper. I felt sick.

"Come on, this way." Mattheo grabbed my hand. I jumped at the contact just as an alarm started to ring out from nearby. We hid down a dark alley, Mattheo's hand clamped over my mouth. He could see the fear in my eyes as we watched a group of death eaters search where we had just been standing. They scampered down the street with groans and snarls. Just as I was about to take a step forward, mattheo stopped me. Around the corner, came one more death eater, lurking at the back of the pack. He stopped dead in his tracks. His head turned straight towards us but Mattheo was too quick. "Flipendo Maxima," the death eater was hurled back against the nearest wall, sending him crashing into the shop and the bricks caving in around him. "Quickly," Mattheo grabbed my hand again and we both made a run for it. We had no idea how to get into the castle but I'd remembered George Weasley's drunken words to me one night at a party:

"I know something you don't," he had beamed with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"Oh yeah, and what's that then?"

"There are secret passages all around the castle," he whispered, "and only Fred and I have the map."

I looked at him in amazement. "I want to see!"

"Too bad," he shrugged his shoulders. "Don't have the map anymore."

"What? Why not?!"

"Gave it to Harry, to help him get into Hogsmeade."

"Damn it, of course Potter's got it."

He laughed at my sulking, "Looks like you're gonna have to discover them for yourself."

"Mattheo, there are secret passages into Hogwarts. Surely there will be one nearby." I said to him.

"Unlikely, they probably would have all been bordered up by death eaters." he said as we rounded another corner. We'd hit a dead end. "Shit." The sound of shouts was becoming louder and louder.

"What do we do?"

"Let me think," he said as he wracked his brain for an answer. A nearby door creaked open and I stepped back in alarm, gripping onto Mattheo's arm. I held my wand out in front of me, ready to strike, Mattheo did the same.
