Cordelia
We sat down at the slytherin table for one last time this year. Professor McGonagal took the podium to announce the results for the houses to a hall full of students who didn't care. The Ravenclaw table gave a scattered applause when it was read out that they had taken the lead but other than that, the hall remained fairly quiet. It didn't feel right not having Mattheo sat beside me. And it especially didn't feel right not having Dumbledore at the front telling us all to have a good summer.
"Hey," Leon's voice whispered from next to me. "He's going to be fine Dee,"
I sighed, moving my gaze to look him in the eyes, " I know, I'm just overthinking I guess."
"He wrote to you, didn't he?" He asked. I gave a small nod. "Ok well then we know that he's safe."
"Yeah but he's being kept prisoner." I said, making sure to keep my voice quiet.
"Shit really? But this is mattheo we're talking about. He'll find a way out. I'm sure of it." He slung an arm around my shoulder, pulling me into his chest.
"I just hate feeling this useless. I want to help him." I admitted.
"I know, and you will be able to help. Just right at this very moment in time, there is nothing you can do." Students began to shuffle around us, getting up to leave the hall. I looked up seeing Harry, Ron and Hermione getting up from the table across from us.
I perked up, "hey will you excuse me." I said to Leon.
"Where are you going?" He asked, causing the heads of the rest of the group to turn to me,
"Don't worry, I'll meet you guys all on the train." I confirmed before heading towards the Gryffindor trio.
They had just made it out of the Great Hall before I caught up with them. Many students gave confused looks to see me of all people talking willingly to Harry Potter. "Hey Harry, you got a sec?" He stood slightly bewildered but agreed nonetheless, nodding to his friends to leave us. "Actually, can I speak to all of you?"
We all made our way to the top of the astronomy tower, away from prying eyes and eager ears. "What do you want?" Ron asked, clearly annoyed with me already. Hermione gave him a slap in the arm to which he exclaimed with a loud Ow.
"I overheard the last of your conversation, Harry, with Mattheo." I said. "I'm assuming you're all up to date with everything." I looked at Ron and Hermione; they both nodded. "I want to help you guys. We're both fighting on the same side and I think it will benefit us both."
"I've already agreed to working with Mattheo, Delia," Harry explained.
"No, I want to work with you." I sighed, reaching into my pocket and pulling out Daniella's locket. "This horcrux used to be mattheo's mother, until with my help, we found a way to transfer the magic from her into this locket. Yes mattheo did the magic, but I did the research."
