Areum's POV

Everybody is so loud. Can't they just lower down their voices or something? Do I really have to know what happened to your grandma's feet? How annoying. Unsurprisingly, I bumped into someone. It's the third time today. I looked at him to see his face, to be honest, he was good looking. "Oh I'm so sorry." I kept quiet and walked away.

As I walked down the hallway, I could sense everyone staring at me. Obviously, if you see a girl wearing a mask and a hoodie over her head, wouldn't you be suspicious? Ugh, but still, mind your own business- "Well well, look who's here." I stared at her. "The one and only 'Masked Girl'." "What do you want, Kim Kwang Nyun?" "It's just that everybody was focusing on you and not me."

This crazy woman has been bullying me since kindergarten, yes KINDERGARTEN. Kwang Nyun suddenly kicked me in the stomach, making me go on my knees. For your information, she was wearing freaking high heels. I quickly stood up, ignoring the excruciating pain. "Hahaha, you don't wanna go on your knees? Then, I'll make you."  She signed to her minions.

They grabbed my arms and pulled me back. Kwang Nyun kept beating me up, before finally stopping and kneeling down. "Oh poor Areum, well your face doesn't really match your name hmm?" I kept silent keeping my head down. "Should I send everyone a picture of you in middle school? The ugliest one of course." She finally let me go once she heard a teacher coming closer.

I laid there half lifeless. What did I do to deserve this? Am I really that ugly? "Hey, are you okay?" I blinked to see if I was hallucinating or not. Oh he's the guy I bumped into, fyi I bumped into two girls (who cursed at me with their eyes) and him. "You're alive then, lemme bring you to the infirmary." "Just stop talking and bring me there." He finally shut his mouth and carried me piggyback to the infirmary. 

Wait, am I still wearing my mask? I touched my face and felt the mask as I sighed in relief. I saw the guy look at me confusingly before placing me on the infirmary bed. He bandaged my knees and elbows before turning his head back. "U-um, did you maybe get hurt at your torso?" "No." "O-oh ok then." I saw his ears turning red. Kinda cute ngl, well he is real handsome.

I think he saw a cut on my face because he leaned closer to check. "U-uh can you take off your mask?" "No." "But I have to put ointment on it or it'll be infected." I stared at his eyes before hesitantly nodding. I took off my hood and my mask. His face turned from a relaxed face to a kinda surprised face. "What? I know I'm ugly, stop staring and do your work." 

"Ugly? Who ever said that? You're not ugly." "Ugh, Kwang Nyun." "Has she even seen your face?" "Yeah back in middle school." "When was the last time you looked at your own face in the mirror or a camera?" "Hmm, last year of middle school?" "Well then, you should look at yourself now."

He handed me a mirror. I looked at my reflection and shocked myself. What? This is how I look now? "You're not near ugly, Areum. You're really beautiful, inside and out." I looked at him kinda flustered. "How do you know my name?" "It's just that I really admired you from the first semester, I'm Jay." Admire? Wait... Is he the one always sending me those cheesy cute letters?

"And yeah, I was the one putting letters in your locker." Jay scratched his neck in embarrassment. "Well thank you." "Um so would you allow me to court you?" "Hmm, sure." I smiled at him but his face turned red. "UGH YOU'RE SO PRETTY." "Stop!" "Nah, who knew that the masked girl was a real beauty."

helo there lovely people. im doing good~  i finally did something with the female lead not being so shy and all. thats usually what i can mostly do, since i am shy and not very outgoing, anyways if you guys liked the bolder female leads, pls inform me so i can make more :D
