Third Person's POV
She flinched as the thunderstorms were heard outside. She covered her ears tightly as tears ran down her cheeks. Her mind went blank, all she could think of was the horrible memories. Memories she got as a child.

The older woman threw her out, and the young girl begged. The older woman yelled at her, "How dare you disobey me! You're no longer my daughter!" She kicked her as the girl was left outside in the rain. She sat there, thinking about what she had done. She got good grades, she never disobeyed her parents, and she was an angel.
The sound of thunder made her weep even more. But just then, a young boy with an umbrella came up to her. "Mom! There's a girl!" He yelled as another woman came and sat beside the young girl. "Omo, what happened?" The girl whimpered as she could barely talk.
All she could say was, "My mother hates me. I'm a horrible person, I don't deserve to live." The woman and the boy's hearts shattered hearing her. This poor girl was only 10. The woman hugged her as she whispered, "From now on, you're living with us."

There she was, all crawled up in a ball in the corner of the room. She kept crying as she forced herself to stop, but she couldn't. Just then, the door opened revealing a man. He goes up to her and caresses her hair. "J-Jake..." "Shh, I'm here." He embraced her as she slowly calmed down.
He carried her to the bed and he tried placing her on it. But she gripped onto his shirt, "D-don't leave me..." "I won't ever leave you, my love." He kissed her forehead as he put himself on the bed as well.
"Can you tell me what you're thinking?" "Hmm, it's about..." "It's fine if you don't wanna tell me. Do you wanna cuddle?" She nodded vigorously making him laugh in adoration. "You're so cute and precious." He looked straight into her eyes as he kissed the tears away.
She closed her eyes, feeling comfortable. "Can you kiss me more?" He chuckled amusingly, "You don't have to even ask, honey." He kissed her all over her face making her smile. He swore he fell more in love with her seeing her smile.
The two hugged each other as they fell asleep. Just the same way they did 10 years ago.

"Jake, can you bring Yumi downstairs with you-" She stopped as she saw the two children hugging as they slept. She smiled adoringly as she covered them with a blanket. She caressed Yumi's hair, "How could anybody ever hurt you?" She kissed the two children's forehead before leaving.
