- saviour/ˈseɪvjə/noun

a person who saves someone or something from danger or difficulty.

Amid a dark forest, a young lady sat crying. She was lost and scared. She thought she would end her life there. She had been told the forest was dangerous but ignored the warnings.

She was a curious and adventurous young lady, but her parents forbade her from going on adventures. The young lady was the princess, heir to the throne. Although she was restricted from enjoying the freedom she desired, she managed to escape occasionally.

On the night of her engagement to the neighbouring kingdom's prince, she decided to run away. She ran as fast as she could not to get caught by the royal guards. But there she was, sitting on a rock in the middle of a forest.

At that moment, an arrow was shot into a tree next to her. She jumped in fear, "who's there?" A man came out of the bushes and pointed his bow to her. "I should be asking you that, lady."

"what are you doing out here all alone?" "I-I'm lost." She was hesitant to admit it because she felt embarrassed. "should I send you back home-" "NO" "hm?" "I mean, I don't have a home." "oh, then would you like to stay at my place for the night?"

"uh-" The man smiled, "if you'd like to be eaten by the wild bears, you can decline my offer." The princess immediately walked beside him.

"where do you live?" The princess asked. "I live in a cottage. It's just near here, can you walk?" "yea, I'm fine-" She was cut off by the sound of a breaking twig she tripped on. The man knelt and checked on her ankle. "I think it's sprained, you shouldn't walk."

Before she could process anything, the man carried her in his arms. The princess' face flushed red as she had never had her heart flutter.

He made her sit on his bed in the cottage and went to another room. The princess was shocked seeing how he lived. He brought out a medical box and treated her sprain.

"can I know your name?" "Jungwon, Yang Jungwon. What about you?" Once she had mentioned her name, Jungwon froze.

"wait, that's the princess's name. No, it can't be-" "what if I told you I'm the princess?" Jungwon stood up and immediately lowered his head. "don't do that, I hate it."

Jungwon returned to her and cautiously asked, "what do you mean by you have no home, your highness?" "please don't call me that." "how about my lady?" "hm, my parents have arranged a husband for me, and I think he's a bastard."

"I didn't know that royals could curse like that." Jungwon chuckled. "we can't, but I do. I don't like being royal." "my lady, should I send you back to the palace tomorrow?" "can't I stay here with you? You're a much better person than my supposed husband." "my lady..."

That night, the young princess stayed at the archer's house. They fell asleep after talking about Jungwon's archery skills.

While the two slept soundly, the kingdom was in chaos. Everyone was looking for the princess, worried that she had gotten kidnapped on the night of her engagement.

Once the sun rose, a knock on the door startled Jungwon and the princess. Jungwon hid the princess under his bed, due to her order.

"Excuse me, sir, have you seen the princess?" "The princess is missing? Is there a search party out looking for her?" Just then, a tall muscular figure stepped in front.

"I am aware that she is inside." Jungwon bowed his head, "I apologize, your highness. However, she is not in my presence."

Hearing this voice, the princess got out of her hiding place. "Shall we head back home, my dear?" The prince handed out his hand, gritting his teeth in anger.

The princess ignored his hand and walked to the guards. She asked Jungwon to follow her, which startled the prince.

At the palace, Jungwon stood in front of the King and Queen. He froze once the princess spoke. "Mother, Father. I'd like to marry this man." "Why did you choose to marry an archer instead of a prince?" The Queen asked in a nonchalant voice.

"The man whom I am supposed to marry is a worthless prince." "I demand an explanation for your opinion." The King sighed.

"I have witnessed the prince engaging in an extramarital relationship with the young duchess. He even admitted it to me."

The King and Queen glanced at the prince as he knelt. "I apologize for my misbehavior, your Majesties." "The engagement is off."

Jungwon's eyes widened as he stared at the princess. "Before you can marry the princess, you must complete a series of tests. Are you willing to accept the challenge?" Jungwon glanced at the princess before nodding. "Yes, your Majesty."

The young princess groaned, rolling around in her bed. "when is he coming??" "I'm not sure, Your Highness."

Just then, the door opened revealing a rather sweaty Jungwon. His hair was slicked back and he wore a dark grey vest.

Jungwon sat on the bed, feeling as tired as ever. "oh my, are you alright?" "yep, just finished horse riding training."

The princess smiled before kissing his cheek. Jungwon's eyes widened and stared at her in shock. "I'm sorry for making you go through all this." Jungwon smiled, embracing her. "it's fine, I do wanna marry you after all."
