Nishimura Riki, a high school senior, was found dozing off in class. You might think, "oh, that's normal." But no, you are wrong.
Riki never skips a class nor does he doze off. His friends were concerned for him. They approached him after class just to ask what was going on.
"ayo, why'd you doze off in class?" "ah, I saw this girl-" "OH MY GOD, NISHIMURA RIKI HAS A CRUSH." "chill down." Riki smacked his friend's head before continuing to speak. "well, I saw her at the library this morning and couldn't get her out of my head."
His friends all cheered since this was the first time Riki had taken an interest in women. Some of them even thought he was homosexual due to his dislike of the opposite gender.
During a free period, Riki went to the library hoping to see the girl. He did see her, but not in a good way.
There she was, hiding behind her friend. "you're cheating on me, aren't you?!" A man yelled at her. The girl tried to approach him but the man just slapped her. "you're such a bitch. We're done."
The girl's friend left her crying on the floor. She cried nonstop. She didn't know what she did wrong. Riki was watching the entire scene.
He felt horrible, so he decided to approach her. He comforted her and asked her if she could let it all out.
The two sat on the rooftop, and the girl told him all about their relationship. Riki was furious, he knew the man was in the wrong.
But instead of doing anything, he decided to befriend the girl.
A few months went by, and the girl still cried over her ex once in a while. She felt guilty about everything. Riki was there to comfort her every time.
Until the ex came back and begged to be with her again. The girl was about to accept his request but Riki came over and stopped her.
He pulled her to the alleyway and grabbed her shoulder. "I hate you. I hate you so much." "Riki-" "I hate you for being a coward. I hate you for liking him. I hate you for being so annoying."
"I'm sorry-" "But oh, how I love you. I love you when you talk. I love you when you laugh and when you make me laugh." The girl stayed silent. "You're so annoying, why can't you just like me? I love you, unlike him. I care for you and comfort you for even the smallest things."
Riki's eyes were full of tears, he felt awful. He let go of her shoulders and was about to leave. But the girl pulled him into a hug.
"I'm sorry, Riki. I want to love you. I hope you can make me love you." Riki smiled, hugging her tighter. "You're so annoyingly cute, I hate you." "I like you too, Riki."
