Aurora never expected her avoidance of love to lead her to a luxury cruise ship with a handsome cop by her side-especially not with a serial killer on the loose! As the tension rises and passions flare, Aurora and Tobias must navigate their budding...
"Aurora, the last time you tried something on me, it ended in disaster.
"No, it's that thing where you pretend your boyfriend is one of those book boyfriends!"
"But, I'm not your boyfriend."
"Anyway, you're still my lover."
"That sounds like we're having an affair or something."
"Oh, please." I let out a snort. He looked to be slightly hurt.
"All right, let's try to do something decent. Let's start with the first item on the list... Smirk as you lean on the wall!" I eagerly read from my phone.
He gave me a reluctant look before leaning against the wall, arms folded.
"Why do you look so uncomfortable?"
"It's because I am."
"OK, I'll give you another one.. um, how about pinning me against the wall and kissing me? I believe I'd like that," I smirked, making him blush.
"Can't we do something else?" He asked, somewhat sheepishly.
"Come on, it'll be fun!"
"Please?" He shifted his gaze away, uncomfortably.
Disappointed, I puffed up my cheeks. For the time being, I'll have to keep my lustful side under control.
"How about you trap me against the wall and trace your finger across my jaw?"
I chirped happily. In disbelief, his baby blue eyes widened.
"No"
"Why-"
"No"
"Fine! How about doing a striptease for me?" My eyes twinkled with mischief.
"And you call me the pervert." He sighed and rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, I'm horny, what are you going to do about it?" I blew him a cheeky kiss.
"Nothing. I'm just going to finish the sudoku," he stated as he sat on the bed with his book. HOW CAN HE JUST-
I jumped on top of him, but he kept working on the sudoku without so much as a glance in my direction. That wretched sudoku book! I'm about to rip it apart.
I snatched the book from him and tossed it onto the couch before returning my attention to him. I locked my gaze with his and slid my finger beneath his silky jaw.
"What would you choose? "Me or that horrible Sudoku book?"
"Sudoku. No hesitation." He smiled. I gasped.
THE NERVE TO SAY THAT TO MY FACE!!
I leaned in closer to his face and touched his lips.
"I guess I'll have to make you love me even more."
While he watched me with a little smile, I grabbed his jaw and brushed my lips against his.
"But, I don't want to." I huffed and jumped off of him, leaving him stunned.
He drew me back to him. I became instantly aware of what I was wearing.
I was wearing a crop top and shorts that were stained with sauce. My hair was in a sloppy bun, but he was the definition of perfection.
"Never mind, I love you much more." He spoke into my ears. Oh no...
He flipped both of us, causing my back to touch the bed.
"I'll give you more butterflies than your book boyfriends will."
At each of his words, my body began to heat up.
"Well, please prove it." I rasped sensuously. He leaned in and slowly nibbled my lips.
I closed my eyes as he kissed me all over my neck.
His hands ran down my face to my waist, gripping it before kissing me passionately.
With a smirk, he took off his shirt and hurled it to the ground.
As my gaze ran down his tattooed abs, my mind was filled with filthy fantasies.
"Mrs. Nightingale, keep your eyes on me."
He smirked as he pressed our lips together even more passionately. I couldn't stop myself from digging my hands into his hair.
Rowan burst through the door.
"Guess who's here-"He became paralyzed. I drew away from Tobias, still laying beneath him. Tobias licked his lips and gave me one last kiss before getting up with a cheeky grin.
"You're a real cockblock, my man. I was just getting to the good part." Tobias teased as he put on his shirt and strolled out of the room, leaving Rowan and me baffled.
"Your husband is a real jerk." Rowan muttered. I couldn't think of anything right now.
"You're welcome."
He squinted at me, confused.
"What?"
"Uhh , thank you- no, I-I mean uh-"I was going to murder Tobias for playing with my mind. I can't even think straight now. Rowan laughed at my nervousness.
"I apologize for interrupting, but you should definitely lock that door!" He winked.
"We tried, but it doesn't really lock." I massaged my red cheeks, whispering.
"Yeah, before I forget, I need to tell you something! So, basically, everyone was drugged with something that heightens the passengers' emotions because while we were both drugged, My lust was heightened to the point where I couldn't control it, while your anxiety was heightened. I think it's those chocolates." He elaborated.
He elaborated. It made sense because I wouldn't behave so violently.
"Even Tobias ate one," replied Rowan. My eyes expanded.
"He did?!"
"Yeah, did you really miss how he was clinging to you that time? That was because his protectiveness over you was heightened much more."
"I'm going to investigate the man who handed me the chocolate." I got up swiftly.
"But don't be too brash. We need to know why this is happening." Rowan warned.
I nodded. Why on earth would they deliberately drug the passengers?
