21. September 2143, Saturday

Slowly, but carefully, Changbin's eyes opened. His temples were throbbing hard, his head was foggy and his neck felt completely stiff. His body seemed to be completely tense, as if it were electrified or as if thousands of ants were crawling around under his skin.

Changbin strained to see what was going on. He had no sense of time and felt no fear or anything like that. He was not even aware of where he was at the moment. The only thing he could perceive was the stupid light, which was probably blinding him directly in the face, and a muffled voice speaking to him.

He also realized that he was dressed all in white and was probably sitting on an extremely uncomfortable chair. The room around him seemed bare, white and eerily familiar, though he couldn't say why

Grumbling, he slowly looked up and gazed into a blurry face. "Heol...?"

He had to blink a few times for his vision to sharpen and realize what a shitty situation he was in.

"Finally woke up Mr. Seo?"

Changbin flinched in shock as he realized that J.Y. Park himself was sitting in front of him. Changbin's eyebrows went up, his mouth open and his gaze fixed on the slightly older man. The man Changbin despised the most.

He tried to get up in a panic but was held in place by an enormous force. He looked down at himself frantically. His upper arms were chained to the table with wide, thick handcuffs. His legs were also fixed to the chair. He desperately tried to pull his arms towards him. He tried to kick with his legs, but it was no use.

He was trapped.

It was impossible for him to free himself from the metal shackles, so he gave up.

Like a stone hitting him, a flash of thought shot through his head and all his memories came flooding back. As if he had been splashed with ice-cold water. But he tried to stay calm and not panic as he briefly reviewed his last memory.

Wooyoung, Jeongin and him in that secluded place. Jeongin was somewhere down by the river while Wooyoung complained about his problems with San and then told him about the new knowledge he had gained in the last mission.

It was so peaceful as the autumn breeze blew through their hair. Wooyoung pulled his jacket a little tighter and Changbin kicked the leaves on the ground with his feet. The birds chirped and the soft rushing and splashing of the river had a calming effect on him. The eldest would never have expected such an intervention in this place.

Irritated, Changbin shook his head.

Everything was happening so fast. Suddenly, white-clad officers came and attacked. The last memory he could recall was Wooyoung's body falling to the ground in a seizure after one of the men completely immobilized him with a stun gun. He was also electrocuted afterwards and now he was sitting in a kind of white-walled interrogation room.

Had Jeongin managed to escape? Was he already with the others to get help?

"Welcome back to District 9! Did you miss your old home?" continued J.Y. Park and made himself more comfortable in his chair opposite Changbin. The sentence came out of his mouth provocatively and he seemed to be having a great time in some way trying to get Changbin back on track.

"Shit, shit, shit! Could someone please pinch me? This couldn't be real!"

Changbin couldn't believe he was back in his most hated place after just over two years. If you were to ask Changbin how he would imagine hell on earth, he would refer to this 'reboot' institution. For him, there was nothing worse and more traumatizing than being back in District 9. He could have never dreamed of being here again.
