It was after two o'clock in the morning when Hongjoong opened the locks on the massive door to their secret hiding place with a slight huff. After removing the locks, he pushed open the heavy door and let everyone in, eyeing them all with a slightly annoyed expression.
He was furious. Especially at Mingi and Hyunjin, whose rowdy and careless behavior had gotten almost everyone into a lot of trouble and injured innocent people in the bargain. A second longer and the police would have been there. But they were lucky.
Once everyone was inside, Hongjoong pushed the door shut and barred it from the inside.
"Wooyoung, please look at the downloaded data. Mingi, sit on the sofa. Hyunjin put the orange first aid kits in the bathroom. San, you take care of your specialty and put away the guns and ammunition. Jeongin... You can go take a shower, the others will jump in afterward," Hongjoong grumbled authority as he hung his jacket on the temporary coat rack.
Everyone immediately followed the instructions so as not to upset the already irritated captain even more. Except for Mingi, who had a big mouth once again: "Yeah, why do I have to go on the sofa and Hyunjin doesn't? He wanted to fight too!" protested Mingi. But Hongjoong had other intentions and didn't want to scold Mingi or anything like that.
At least not yet.
Instead, the captain went into the small kitchen, right next to the temporary wardrobe, and took a pack of frozen peas out of the freezer. Then he walked into the nearby primitive living room, where Mingi had already sat down on the old, brown sofa.
All the furniture was quite a mess. In addition to the brown sofa, there were two old armchairs with colorful cushions in the room. There was an old Persian rug on the floor and opposite the sofa was a small cupboard with an old TV on it. Various DVDs and books were lying around next to the TV.
In the corner of the same room was Wooyoung's small, personal IT workstation, which offered him a little privacy with a modest partition wall. He had a few computers, screens, and other amateurish, helpful things there.
In this corner, the wall was papered with floor plans, building plans, and other sketches.
At the moment, however, Wooyoung was wearing an old headset and listening to music on a Walkman while his eyes were fixed on the laptop and the newly downloaded data.
Hongjoong handed Mingi the bag of peas. He meekly thanked him and held the packet to the sore spot on his jaw, which was already swollen blue. "Next time, please be more careful," Hongjoong muttered, looking at the pink-haired man seriously. "Why? Are you worried?" Mingi grinned ingratiatingly, causing the captain's mouth to form an emotionless line. "As worried as I would be about any other member," he admitted.
They continued to talk, while a short time later Jeongin, Hyunjin, and San walked into the kitchen, hungry, freshly showered, and with their hair still damp.
The practical thing about their little bunker was that they had a bathroom with two shower cubicles and three toilets, so there was never a long queue.
"My stomach is growling," said San, rubbing his stomach and looking at the stove. No one had cooked anything before the mission, he realized sadly now.
"I was only at 7-Eleven yesterday or the day before. Why don't you cook yourself some ramen or something? Make sure there's enough for everyone, after all, you were supposed to cook today... ...so it was your turn yesterday," Hyunjin admitted and Jeongin nodded hungrily.
