23. September 2143, Monday

Around three o'clock at night, the seven of them finally arrived at the bunker. Tired, Hongjoong rummaged around in his jacket pocket, looking for the key to the locks on the huge door. But something seemed strange.

Something was different than usual, which Hyunjin noticed immediately. He reached for the lock, which was broken. Startled, Jisung jumped back and hid behind Yunho. The others suddenly became alert and looked at each other with meaningful glances.

"A break-in?" Hongjoong murmured thoughtfully. Everyone was alert as the captain slowly pushed the large steel wall open. Hyunjin already had his knife ready in his hand, while the others had to equip themselves with their bare fists, as they hadn't thought to take along pistols.

Slowly, Hongjoong was the first to enter their hideout, crouching and turning on the light. When he was sure that there was no one else here, he sighed with relief.

"The coast is clear," came from the bunker, which is why the other six followed him inside. But even though there was no intruder now, the chaos made it clear that some people had been here.

There were lots of dirty shoe marks from the forest on the floor, shelves were open, books were lying all over the place and the room as a whole was pretty devastated.

"What the hell happened..." San mumbled barely audibly. Yunho's breath caught when he saw something small and blue on the floor. "That's not..." he mumbled to himself and knelt down to the blue object. It was a blue Lego brick charm, which looked all too familiar to Yunho.

Meanwhile, the others were busy looking around their lair, trying to connect the signs to find out who had broken in. Deviants? Officials from District 9?

Mingi seemed to have noticed Yunho's behaviour and came to meet him. "What's going on?"

Yunho hesitantly took the key charm in his hand while Mingi crouched down next to him. He first looked at the object in Yunho's hand and then at the man himself. His face became more serious. "We have to leave," Yunho said and stood up again immediately. Following his gaze, Mingi looked after him. "Why?"

But the taller one didn't return the pink-haired one, instead walking straight to Jisung, who was checking Wooyoung's IT corner to see if any of the stuff was missing. And there were clearly a lot of things missing. All the information Hongjoong's group had gathered was gone, and their weapons were no longer there either.

Yunho eagerly showed the keychain to Jisung. "Seonghwa's Lego brick?" he shrieked in panic, causing all the residents to flinch. "Guys, we have to leave! The officers from District 9 have arrived! Even the agent, Park Seonghwa!" Jisung shouted in alarm so that everyone in the small bunker could hear him.

"The footprints also look very fresh, they must have been here only a short time ago," Hyunjin revealed his findings. "So District 9 wanted to strike at a late hour, when we were fast asleep," Jeongin thought to himself. "What if they're still close by? We have to get back to-" Jisung panicked, but Hyunjin immediately interrupted him and reminded him in a whisper that the officers might have left bugs behind that were listening in on the safe house. If they were unlucky, they would also be under video surveillance.

Hoongjoong looked at his members and tried to start a non-verbal communication. He moved his eyes, waved his arms and hands and occasionally wiggled his eyebrows. To Yunho and Jisung, it seemed very silly and looked more like he was doing pantomime. The ex-agents couldn't really read his hieroglyphics, but it seemed to be some kind of secret language that the guerrillas of Hongjoong's group used to communicate.
