"I still can't understand what drove Yunho to behave like that," Jisung pondered aloud as he looked at the dessert display case in the District 9 canteen. He immediately spotted the last piece of cheesecake, grabbed it, and rushed to the checkout with the tray in his hand.

"Good question..." replied Minho, pulling a hot-brewed cup of Americano from the machine. Then he turned around and wanted to go to the checkout. But suddenly an employee accidentally bumped into him, causing Minho to spill his hot Americano all over his white shirt.

Startled, he gasped as he felt the sharp pain in his chest. He reached for the nearest napkin dispenser and dried his now brown-stained shirt. But that only made the situation worse, as the stains got even bigger from the smearing.

Any normal person would be quite annoyed or even angry at such an action, but Minho's chip neutralized those feelings to a minimum.

"Sorry, that wasn't my intention! I'll pay for a new coffee and of course the cleaning of the white shirt," the woman apologized and bowed in a 90-degree angle. But as understanding as the chip made Minho, he waved it off gratefully. " No big deal," he said with a smile and wanted to wave the cleaner over so she could mop the floor. At that moment, the office worker shook her head in denial. "You don't need to get the cleaner! That was my fault, so I'll mop the floor. But I won't keep you any longer. I hope you have a nice stay in District 9!" she said goodbye to Minho in a very friendly manner after he had also thanked her kindly, and without further ado treated himself to a new Americano, paid for it, and finally sat down with Jisung and Seonghwa.

"And what exactly happened to you?" Seonghwa asked, scrutinizing Minho. "Just a minor accident, nothing serious. Shall we continue talking about our case?" Minho changed the subject, proving once again how well the chip in his throat worked: pushing aside superfluous topics and concentrating on the essentials: They turned people into downright workhorses.

Jisung was still busy eating his cheesecake but had already turned his attention to Minho and Seonghwa. "You're right," Hwa replied and turned to the quokka. "Were you able to track Yunho's chip?"

"Negative. He probably removed the tracker or destroyed the chip and disposed of it somewhere," Jisung admitted his concerns. "My guess on the second. There must be a reason why he didn't leave the chip in the hotel room. Kind of a weird deviant pattern if you ask me," Minho added.

"But I was able to find out something else. While Yunho's pursuit program was running, I watched the museum's surveillance cameras again. When we started chasing the Guerrillas, Yunho followed two of them, but they split up. During the escape, the Guerrilla lost his mask, and after further analysis, I identified him as Song Mingi. When Yunho and this Song faced each other, Yunho's chip seemed to have burned out, and judging from their reactions, they seemed to know each other. Unfortunately, it's not yet clear what their relationship is," Jisung explained.

"Are you saying that Yunho's chip didn't burn out because of a defect, but because of strong emotions?" Minho wanted to know, remembering the very first day of the introduction of District 9. That not only defects in the KQ chip but also negative emotions are the reason for the emergence of deviants. That these deviants are a threat to humanity and have only evil in mind.

Yunho was probably one of them now...

"According to my hypothesis, the probability is 90%," Jisung said and forked up the last piece of cake, which he immediately devoured. "Considering that his chip had already burned out at the museum, Yunho was still doing pretty well. To be honest, he seemed different that night, but for him to switch sides now? Weird... Has he found shelter with the Guerrillas now?" Seonghwa pondered. "Can't be... After all, this Song Mingi must have triggered negative feelings in Yunho, perhaps some kind of arch-enemy. If he was with the Guerrillas, that would be strange. But it could also be that he's looking for the Guerrillas since he's one of them now. Unfortunately, these are just theories and not facts..." Jisung purses his lips thoughtfully.
