"GET OUT!" Mason yells, pointing his gun at me. Lexie keeping Lily from getting to me, "you are a psychopath! You can't love anyone, Cybertronian or human!"
I stand in the doorway in my holoform. There's nothing I can do. Trying to leave results in Mason shooting me. As I fall onto the deck, I hear Lily screaming.
I wake up hyperventilating, feeling like I can't get air in.
"Sunstreaker?!" Sideswipe panics.
I don't know if I need Ratchet, but I know he's calling Ratchet.

Sideswipe's P.O.V.
It's been centuries since I've seen Sunstreaker like this; after nightmares from the scrap we dealt with as kids.
It's been four weeks since he was injured. Complications like this shouldn't be happening. The scary part is I can only watch.
Until Jolt and Ratchet rush in, they tell me to leave the room.

A few minutes pass before Crosshairs and Drift are running down the hall.
Drift goes into the room, but Crosshairs stops next to me. He skips the typical question and has me sit on the floor. I can't explain what I'm feeling from Sunstreaker, but I hate it.

Fifteen minutes pass before this feeling fades. I know Sunstreaker is asleep.
Drift and Ratchet walk out of the room. Ratchet immediately telling Crosshairs and me that he used sleep aid. Aware it's two in the morning, and Sunstreaker will likely be asleep until noon. Lily is not going to like hearing that. I don't know if she'll believe he was on patrol overnight, but it's better than the truth.
Drift is troubled, having failed  to help Sunstreaker calm down.
"I'm concerned about how terrified he was," Drift comments, "and it's out of our control."
It's easy to figure Sunstreaker's nightmare was related to Lily and her family questioning if he should be allowed near her. After the close relationship, they've built.
"We need to let them stay in contact," Ratchet comments, "which I can see why Lily's parents would disagree, but if Sunstreaker's response to the unknown is this. I'm concerned about Lily."
He decides to talk to Lily's family in the morning. The three leave while I go back to my room. Hopefully back to sleep.

Ratchet's P.O.V.
It's hard to believe Sunstreaker is the one in love. Unfortunately, his personality is half the reason why Lily's parents are concerned. I think he's willing to work on problems he's denied for centuries. This will take months, maybe years, but at least he's trying.
I doubt I have enough proof to show them he's trying to do better. This would help his anxiety and Lily if her parents would stop causing the two to feel like they're not allowed to be together.

Lily's P.O.V.
"He's exhausted after his first night patrol in weeks," Sideswipe tells me.
I don't completely believe that, even though I don't know if Sunstreaker would tell me he was assigned night patrol. I hope he was asked to do one patrol rather than this being his schedule.

I don't want to do anything. I should leave for good today. Ignoring Drift and Sideswipe, I go upstairs.
"Watch where you're going!" A familiar voice scolds as I walk into him, or he got in my way on purpose. Either way, I can't avoid smiling, "I know you're smiling," Sunstreaker has me look at him. He's on his knees to hug me. I didn't know I'd start crying, "we'll figure this out. I'd say I'll threaten them if I have to, but I'd be proving them right, and we'd be saying goodbye for good."
Sunstreaker picks me up. Carrying me to my temporary room.

He sits on the bed with me on his lap.
"I never thought I'd fall for anyone, never mind a human, but I love you, even with the short time together since we met."
He stops talking, even though I'm certain there's more he wants to say, and kisses me.

Sunstreaker's P.O.V.
I know what I'm feeling isn't just I have a friend. Lily would be my first girlfriend, but I'm certain I love her even if she's a hybrid, even with all the challenges.
We're interrupted by someone clearing their throat. We see Lily's parents and Ratchet in the room. I'm more concerned about Lily looking terrified that we've been caught kissing. She doesn't know about my nightmare. I hold on to her, worried she will pass out from fear. I smell she's afraid.
Sunstreaker, what's going on? Sideswipe asks.
We're in trouble.
Sideswipe is trying to calm me, but I worry it's too late. I don't want to scare Lily, but I can't relax.

Lily's P.O.V.
We're in trouble, and Sunstreaker is going to pass out. It's hard not to be happy that there's nothing medically wrong that he's passing out.
"What were you doing?" Dad asks, sounding pissed.
"I...," Sunstreaker doesn't know what to say.
"I said he's not going to understand joking," Ratchet scolds; dad, as he walks past him, "calm down, it's going to be ok."
I think Ratchet is talking to both of us.
"I'm not sure if I approve of kissing yet," Dad sighs, "and it's hard seeing you in a relationship at twelve, add with an alien; but I'm not going to forbid this."
"You both know the rules," Mom adds, "but you need to learn to balance being with Sunstreaker and Veronica until you're ready for them to meet. When was the last time you called her?"
Even Sunstreaker looks at me, displeased.
"Seriously? This is why you're being told not to come here for a month," he argues though he's already lectured me.
"I'm concerned you'll still ignore Veronica without a strict no contacting Sunstreaker rule," Mom admits, "and I'd rather not do that."
With that, my parents and Ratchet leave the room.
"Now you have me worried you're neglecting your friend," there's no argument. Even while recovering in the medbay, I could've called her, "you know I don't want to wait until school starts again to figure out when you can come here, but if I have to," this feels like a breakup. I feel tears forming as Sunstreaker hugs me.
