The merchant shook his head, thinking that the couplet was too literary. Tang Bohu thought for a moment and rewrote the couplet: "Business at the doorstep is like mosquitoes on a summer night, swarming in and out; money at night is like lice in winter, the more you scratch, the more it itches."
