During last year's Qingming, our family went to pay respects to our ancestors at the cemetery. Suddenly, my great aunt's 17-year-old cousin twitched twice and let out a low laughter. He said, "They are here. Your filial piety is still lacking." Then, he quickly squatted down, picked up some of the offerings, and ate them.

My second aunt's 15-year-old cousin was scared and began crying. My great aunt's father was the first to react and gave the cousin two slaps on the face.

It was drizzling that Qingming day, and my great aunt stopped anyone from persuading the cousin. She watched as he tearfully kowtowed 100 times before allowing him to leave the hill.
