"finally you two look like you belong" both me and tanjiro's clothes were dirty and worn out but we were way stronger than before. me and tanjiro stood infront of sabito with my hatchet out and tanjiro and sabito with there swords, the only difference this time is that sabito had a real one. we all stood still for in this moment we all knew it was a one way win, whoever struck first would win. both of us had ran to sabito and for a fraction of a second our weapons had struck first on sabito's mask. he smiled at us as if he was happy and sad, making this another time that i have to act fast. i walked up to sabito and makomo and hugged them tightly. i spoke in a small whisper "im so sorry but we'll kill it for you i swear" they both smiled and said there goodbye's as they walked away and i had looked back as both me and tanjiro realized what we actually had cut through was our boulders.
me and tanjiro faced urokondaki when he had stood at our split boulders "...to be honest..i never once had the intention to send you two to the final selection, because i didnt want to see anymore children die" i felt a sharp pain in my heart as i thought of all the children that had died before us. "i was sure this wouldnt be able to be cut but..." he walked over to the two of us and patted out heads "well done tanjiro and kina...truly remarkable....im very proud" the touch of his hands was so kind i started to cry because he reminded me so much of my father and so did tanjiro. he pulled us into a tight hug while telling us to come back alive and how he would be waiting for us.
after the large feast we had me and tanjiro started to cut our hair but somehow i miraculously convinced tanjiro to not cut his hair until after the final selection and that i would even cut it for him and wash his hair since i used to help wash my sister in her cosmotology of course i didnt tell tanjiro that. urokondaki gave us our masks and he gave the wisteria perfume i had asked to be made a long time back and my kunai except with gold accents and 1 small crescent moon on the cuff band.
