Vasu: Deii.. Today evening the girl's parents are coming to see you, be ready on time

Subhi(Sister): Venkat.. I will tell you what to do , how to answer and I will choose dress for you.

Venkatesh: ellan kali kalam. Ponnu pakkara nal poi, ipo payyana pakka varanga

(its all fate.. back then groom would meet the girl at her house and now its vice versa)

Latha: Venkat .. never in my wildest dreams I thought the drama that I enacted in my college days would be happening in my son's life.

Venkatesh: pcch..why you did not get any other good story for Drama?

Subi: venku.. don't say anything. Come we will search the girls profile in facebook and see her pics.

Venkatesh is a 29 year old guy, who is 5.11 inches tall and was very lean. May be his height is adding extra leanness to him. He had rough days from his final year of engineering because of Yelarai nattu sani(Saturn Transit).

He struggled a lot to get jobs, faced lot of problems, insults, even landed in a job where he needs to stand and work for 15 hours per day. Later he convinced his parents and went to UK to do masters in Embedded Engineering. Due to some issues at that time for Indians in getting job in UK, he was forced to come back to India.

After a long search and changing 2 to 3 companies, Now he is working as a permanent employee in a good company for a decent salary. His parents had been searching alliance for the past 1 and half years but nothing worked out. Still his parents are searching bride for him.

Venkatesh: Hey... subhi.. look at this profile . The DP shows her picture but status says Engaged.

Subhi too had a look at it.

Subi: Yes da.. Same girl only.. Paa.. Did they tell you anything about this already?

Vasu: No they have not . But are you sure it's the same girl?

Subhi.: Yes Paa

Vasu: But let us not come to a conclusion. Will ask them about it and if they have valid and genuine reason we will proceed with them.

Evening the girl's parents and uncle came to their house. After the usual greetings ,Venkatesh was shot with various questions from how he travels to office till the deductions mentioned in his payslip. He was sitting amongst everyone answering questions patiently.

Later, Vasu asked about the engaged status in facebook. The reply gave by the girl's parents were not so convincing and looked like they are hiding something. 

Vasu and latha thought they might not be aware of what has happened with the girl. This being a sensitive issue, they don't want to disclose it to everyone which they understood. 

But their opinion was being frank in the beginning itself would clear any issues in future if they are going to give their daughter to their son. Still, they decided to go and meet the girl the next day., as the horoscopes were matching.

Next day, Vasu, Latha, Subhi, Venkatesh and his uncle and aunt went to meet the girl at her house.

After usual greetings, they were served upma, kesari and coffee. Then came the girl. She was wearing sleeveless kurti with leggings and had a free hair. She smiled and greeted everyone. The girl did not talk much and went inside within 2 minutes.

 Venkatesh's family is conservative in certain things and expected a girl to wear saree , basically to an extent of how a typical Indian arranged marriage meet would be. Venkatesh too felt this girl herself is not interested in the marriage and was not ready to talk even. 

So he said no when they asked him if he wants to speak with the girl alone.

Vasu and Latha commenced the topic about engaged status in FB.  "we fixed engagement with someone and due to dowry issues it got stopped" was the reply given to them.

The reply was not convincing for Venkat and his parents. The thing that was hindering them was, 'why would she still have the status as engaged even though it was all stopped few months back?'. But they did not ask anything in front of them and put others in difficult situation.

The upma which was served was too salty and Venkat felt very difficult to finish. Still, he managed as they gave him less amount. 

But for Subhi they gave little high in quantity and she was struggling to eat. Venkat said to Subhi in a low voice who was in full swing struggling to finish that.

Venkatesh: Hey Subhi..Just leave it ri. Its too salty,

Subhi: no da.. Its ok I will manage. What will they think if I don't eat. We need to make some good impression da.

Venkatesh: it's not an issue. No one would say anything, leave it as it is. Moreover, I don't think this alliance is gonna workout. As if with your upma eating only they are going to fix me.

Subhi: You be silent. Don't talk like this. We would try to fix this girl.

Venkatesh thought, "veetla upma nale kathuva, oru vai vaka mata, inga vandhu enna performance podra paru.. idhula indha chitthi vera, Venkatesh apdi epdi nu vazhthu madal . indha sambandham oothikuchu dhan ivanga performance ellam wasteu dhan"

(at home she never even had a spoon of upma , but here her performance is too much, his aunt was all praise for him to the girl's parents, which was waste as he felt this alliance will not work out) .

Subhi: Venkat.. Kesari saptiya da

Venkatesh: Enough.. you don't need to try anything. Andha upuu mava saptadhe podhum . I guess we can leave.

(I already had enough of that salt upma)

After few minutes, they all bid bye to the family and went home. Later the next day , the girl's mother called and said her daughter was not willing to marry for now and wants to Study. Venkat or his family was not bothered this time as they very well knew the situation when they went yesterday.

This is the 4th alliance which they went to meet and did not work out. Venkat's uncle and Aunt in a polished manner said to call them only when things are fixed. 

Vasu and Latha were little worried as everything was getting late for Venkatesh. First his job, now his marriage. They had no other option than praying to God for good thing to happen.
