Opportunity Knocks

Weeks and days passed. After the fight that has happened, Sreeja started talking more with Venkat by giving him extra 15 minutes time. Still she was very cautious to avoid fighting with him or say or do  anything that will lead to fights.

One day , she was feeling very tired and too much of headache, still she chose to travel to office ignoring it. After reaching office, she became even more tired,cold and realized that her fever is increasing. Hence decided to take off for the day after informing her Manager as she is almost inside the office premises.

With the high AC, she started to shiver more and got high cold and  sneezed heavily. Her Manager called her when she was nearing her seat and so she went to his place. Seeing her state, he asked if she was ok. Sreeja told she is not feeling well and might take leave for the day.

Her Manager approved her leave and told he has called her to inform about her upcoming onsite travel which the client has specifically requested for her. Hearing the word onsite, Sreeja's face brightened and felt half of her fever has gone. 

It's a 2 month program at Spain for their ongoing migration project. Sreeja immediately agreed to it and said no matter what she will travel.

"If you are shivering like anything for this AC , then how would you manage the cold and snow there? the time you are travelling is winter time , its not like what you see in Chennai."

"You don't need to bother about that. I can handle. This I am just tired, I will be alright tomorrow. You can confirm my name" she said chirply.

After having a light tiffin and rest in the dorm, Sreeja took off for the rest of the day and went home in cab to share the good news. She wanted to share this  with her parents and siblings first rather than Venkat whom she knew barely for 2 months.

It is her dream to travel onsite. She has not even travelled in domestic Airlines nor went to Airport. She has a goal in life to go to airport only when she is travelling, that too only in international Airlines. 

Her first step in airport should be for her onsite travel and not even a honeymoon trip or any tours. For this reason , she denied going to the airport to pick up her aunt who returned from US and sent her brother. 

Though she has not travelled in plane or seen airport, has done lot of research on how to dress, what to do, how things are in foreign countries. Even now while travelling in cab, she started doing the same , exploring about the place, what are the basic phrases to learn, places to visit and so on. 

She was more ecstatic and was in her own dream land when her home came.After paying the cab driver, she went to 2nd floor and rang the bell of her house ,waiting for her mother to open the door. Seeing her at this time her mother asked, "What you did not go to office? why you have come so early?"

"I have some good news to share, so my manager gave half day leave for me" said Sreeja who went to change her dress.

After changing her dress ,she decided to tell her mother about onsite and make her agree no matter what this time. Because her parents and Venkat's parents found it difficult to fix a marriage date as both the families had some criteria on the dates.

Getting a date with Marriage hall availability satisfying both the parties criteria was difficult making a gap of 5 months between Engagement and Marriage. 

Now the date which both parties have agreed is on the same month when she will be at onsite. Anyway with this much months of gap,she thought its ok to push it even more further as she heard her parents saying the date will be concluded by this week.

Her mother asked what it was but she said will reveal only when her father and brother too are available. Seeing a difference in her tone, her mother touched her forehead to see if she is having fever. 

But Sreeja pusher her hand and went to sleep.

"Hey.. Sreeja, you are having fever and you are not well .I can see from your face, come will go meet doctor"

"ma no need of that, I am alright, I will get over with it after some sleep"

"its burning Sree. come will go meet doctor"

"pcch... maa.. just leave me alone, I will never visit hospital. These are all just simple things"

"are you going to come or not? I am not going to leave you, come will go have some injection, only then you will get alright"

"arggh . maaa.  I already took some tablets from office clinic. now don't disturb me. I will be alright if I have some rest" said sreeja who slept.

"you want me to believe that you ate tablets? You will never listen to me. I know what to do and when you will listen.Now I know thw reason why you came early"  said her mother.

But Sreeja slept immediately due to tiredness so her mother thought not to disturb her now and went. 

Sreeja never likes to go to hospital , have injections or eat medicines and tablets. She hates them to the core. How much ever high the fever is she would try to use some natural medicines and avoid going to hospital. 

When she was in school after attaining her age, she did not get periods for a longer time. Even at that point she did not visit doctor for checkup. Her mother and others forced her to go check with doctor and so she went. She was very lean and less amount of haemoglobin made her not get periods often. 

She was given some tonics and other tablets which she followed for few days and stopped as she started getting her periods. 

Later in the evening , when she woke up,still tired, she messaged Venkat stating she is at home not feeling well and would talk with him later. Then she came to hall to see her brother and father watching tv and mother in kitchen preparing Coffee. 

She refreshed herself and got her coffee. Before she could start about her onsite topic, her mother told about the wedding date that was fixed making Sreeja go to shocked state.
