* Unromantic Romance

Precap: Days went smooth for Sreeja in Spain and Venkat in India. They spent lot of time talking over the call. Venkat was happy to see a different behavior of Sreeja in Spain. He one day wished her for her birthday though it was late. Sreeja and acknowledged it. After 4 days , Venkat came to know that her birthday was over long time back.

"Sreeja, your birthday was last month and I wished you the next month which I realized after 4 days. why you did not tell me about it when I wished ?" Venkat said.

"Chill, its not a problem, men does not remember the birthdays of their wives or anniversaries, so its common for you to forget."

"At least you could have told about it when I asked, when you were wearing new kurti na?"

"hmm... correct, but I thought it was not a big deal to tell these things"

"one way or the other it is good for me. One of my colleague was continuously rambling about how his wife was angry at him for forgetting their anniversary. Finally he ended up buying lot of things to pacify her apart from anniversary gift."

"pasanga nelama romba pavam" (Feel pity for the men)

"ya it is.ok what gift do you need? teddy bears? chocolates ? anything else?"

"Don't buy me any gift unless I ask you. I would ask whatever I need when I am in need"

"Idhu bayangaram. Namala gift kudutha oru budget la pogum. Iva solradha patha, namma budget adivangum polaye. vaya kuduthu matikitomo"

(If I give her any gift on my own it would be under my budget. Now with whatever she says, looks like chances are there that it would cross my budget. I should not have asked her about gift)

"I could hear your mind voice"

"avlo sathamava kekudhu" He said in a comedy tone ( is it that loud enough?)

"No its because you were speaking it out loud"

Their conversation continued with all sweet nothings and random stuffs. One day while talking, he came to know that Sreeja does not like teddy bears and hate them. She told she was afraid of the eyes in the bear which are scary at night.

She does not like roses and not a fan of dairy milk chocolates too, although she likes chocolates. Venkat felt he is the only person in the world who wished his fiance very late for her birthday, and also give gifts which she utterly dislike.

He recollected their fight about key chain and understood what she meant by she does not like it. His perception about how girls are , what they like or think is different with Sreeja. Sreeja neither shared any of her likes or dislikes nor cared to ask about his.

When asked about it , she advised him that " the gifts, wishes and long talks all those things are temporary which would last till max of 3 months of their marriage. After that he will not be in love phase just like now ,and would not even care about her likes or dislikes,nor show much care or love".

She even gave more advises and talk about how marriage life works and other stuffs. Venkat felt his head spinning with whatever she spoke. One thing he understood for sure is that Sreeja is total unromantic and modern Samiyar (sage) working in MNC.

Venkat would stay awake just to talk with Sreeja as he would not get this opportunity once she returns to India.

He would doze off to sleep in his office due to these late night calls. His friends and Subhi teased him to the core for this. But he enjoyed those teasing and was in cloud nine phase.

Venkat and Sreeja became comfortable with each other in the recent days. Their talks were more in general and did not go anything deep about their personal life in future. He was hesitant and thought it is not good to speak anything more fearing what she might think of him.

Venkat seemed more happy and contented with everything, thinking about Sreeja and listening to romantic songs. He even shared her the same, for her to listen and asked whether she listens to romantic songs or watch romance movies.

"what is this Venkat, listening to Romantic songs like a love sick teenager. its all useless. I will share you some useful podcasts that will benefit for you" she said and shared him some podcasts.

Venkat did not even open them as he knew very well it would have been something about lessons learned in life or something regarding motivation , inspiration.

He tried his level best to make her talk something romantically but gave up as he felt at one point of time, he too has started thinking like Sreeja.

"bramachari lendu kudumbasthana mara kalyanam pannalamnu patha, ivala katindu nan sanyasi ya poyduven pola iruke"

(I thought my status would change from Bachelor to married man but looks like I would become a sage or monk after marrying her)

Still he did not want to lose hope and tried to talk with her.

"hmmm.. Sreeja... I have something to ask you.. but you should not mistake me or get angry at me"

"hmmm... proceed" said sreeja with pizza in her mouth.

"ahem...ah .. that is... ahem.. hmm..." he cleared his throat not knowing how to ask.

"what happened ? throat problem? or Starting trouble?"

"actually, you should not .....shout at me ...or get angry for asking this now"

Sreeja looked at him intently to see what he is going to ask. She signalled with her eyes to spill out what he wants to ask, while eating her next slice of pizza.

"I actually ... we want... I.. I would like us ....to have two children... are...you ... ok... with ...it? he stammered hesitatingly.

Before he could finish his sentence her reply came.
