Mr and Mrs Unromantic

* First Fight

Precap: Sreeja rushed to meet Venkat before leaving. Her relatives started from the marriage hall in van unknowingly without her. Later Vasu informed Sreeja's parents and her cousin came to pick her up. In the meantime, Sreeja and Venkat shared few general talks. 

Few days passed. Now Sreeja and Venkat are talking over the phone daily for 15 mins exactly only in the evening before Sreeja left to her house from office. It's usually Venkat who would talk more and Sreeja remained as silent listener.

Venkat felt it was too short and sometimes even tried to drag the topic to extend time. But Sreeja would cut the call most of the time stating she has to travel.

It is always Venkat who shares most of the things, even if it is nonsense, he would share. It was very difficult to get something come out of Sreeja's mouth and remained more tougher person.

There were no late night calls or weekend calls. If at all she talks about anything it would be of something that has happened in her office. Poor venkat would listen to all her office ramblings just to make her talking .

There had even been times, based on what Sreeja was talking Venkat felt she is a "sanyasi" (sage) and it would be difficult to make her fall in love or be romantic.Though Venkat is not a very romantic person and say coaxing words or flirt, he had basic level of all these feelings which you can expect from a normal guy.

After much persuading from Venkat, Sreeja installed whatsapp and started to use it. She has not used even video call or normal call, no reply to messages often. If at all there is a reply they are just lexical fillers.

One who sees their chat history in whatsapp will know that it is only Venkat who would have said lot whereas Sreeja's reply would be just ohh.. k.. s.. fine.. bye.

One day he asked his mom to get permission from Sreeja's parents to send Sreeja and her brother to send along with him and his sister to visit a movie  in a nearby mall. But her parents denied stating they will not allow visiting outside before marriage.

He felt sad and irritated about it. But his parents said its quiet normal for a girl's parents to say that considering the security reasons.

The following week, Sreeja decided to meet Venkat in his office as a surprise without the knowledge of her parents. She did not attend the call of Venkat that day as her mobile was in the bag while travelling. After reaching his office, she was denied entry so she took her phone to call venkat and saw there were 10 missed calls.

She tried calling him again,but he did not pick up the call. After trying 3 more times and messaging him to pick up the call, she dialled Subhi who told they are on their way to their home and will talk later.

Sreeja felt upset and scolded herself for not asking his work timings and left to her house with a sad face. She made a mistake of deciding not to say about her visit to Venkat fearing he might tease her. Had she told this she could have avoided facing the wrath of Venkat.

Venkat who came home felt  she is not interested in marriage or not interested in talking to him.The next day being saturday, Venkat tried pinging her. But Sreeja did not care to look her mobile almost till evening. She then replied to him that she now only saw her mobile and will talk with him later as they are going out for purchase.

Next day being Sunday, Venkat pinged her stating he wants to talk something serious with her in call only. Sreeja felt nervous with whatever he said and attended the call after coming to the terrace.

Sreeja: "what happened? did I do or say anything wrong?"

Venkat: "Yes, wrong from my part only. I feel like I am forcing you to speak with me. If you are not interested we can talk after marriage no problem. I won't disturb you."

Sreeja: "What made you think that way? I am getting more tensed based on what you say."

Venkat: "No need to get tensed and panic. Also don't say anything to your parents now and I too will not say anything to them. It's always me talking and you are always silent. For messages as well you are not replying properly."

Sreeja: "Sorry. no not like that. I am just new to all this. I actually feel like talking lot after engagement in whatsapp."

Venkat: "First of all, did anyone force you for this marriage? if yes, please tell that now itself. We can cut ties with everything now."

Sreeja even started to cry silently. Lots of thought ran in her mind. She felt like dejavu happening. One of the previous alliance that came to her which almost got fixed was later stopped due to same kind of issue.

She is not used to all this long talks or messages. It takes some time for her to mingle with new person comfortably. Not only that, she felt having long night conversations , chats and sharing everything now is unnecessary. Her thought is what will the couples talk after marriage? will talking all things now lead to a better understanding and avoid fights after marriage? Absolutely no. 

According to her this is all love phase where even small things about the partner seems to be more interesting. Their flaws will also not be visible or we chose to ignore if at all we see them now. 

Despite of all this thought, she does not know what made her go meet him in office. It was very unusual of her to go and surprise people or care about others feelings.

 Hearing all this accusation against her she chose not to say about her visit to his office thinking he should not be pacified because she visited. He should be able to understand and accept her as she is , even without her visiting.

Sreeja: "Sorry. I will try to change myself , just give me some time. And please don't say anything to my parents or stop the marriage. "

Venkat:" I don't have any intentions of stopping marriage just like that. I wanted to know if  I am forcing you to all these things. May be you are not interested to go socially but I am are not aware of it until you tell me that explicitly. And don't say sorry often. It has lot of weightage to it. 

Sreeja: "I really meant when I said Sorry. I will change."

Venkat: " its not about changing. Its all about understanding. Try to understand others feeling too. You don't need to change yourself because of me and neither do I.  Anyway if I had said anything harsh or rude please forgive me. "

Sreeja did not reply and was sobbing silently. But Venkat heard her sniffing.

Venkat:  "are you crying?"

no reply.

There was a silence and both did not speak for few minutes. 

Sreeja: "I did not cry. I will never cry."

Venkat: "indha kupra vilundhalum meesaila mannu ottadha mari soluvangale adhu mari nee"

(sarcasm: you are talking as if nothing has happened even after you fell and acting as everything is normal)

Sreeja: "believe me.."

Venkat: " ok, I will act as I believe in you."

Sreeja: "I will cut the call"

Venkat: "ok cut the call and go as you do everytime"

Sreeja: "see you are still angry at me."

Venkat: " No I am not . I just said that for fun"

Sreeja: "Ok then cut the call, I have other work"

Venkat: "why should I? "

Sreeja: "you cut the call first. You are the one who called"

Venkat: "Ladies first"

"Hate you" said Sreeja and cut the call.

Venkat too cut the call with a smile thinking of her. He for sure knows there is lot more between them to understand and its just the beginning.
