Mr and Mrs Unromantic

Missing

Venkat and Subhi were shocked to see the photo and looked at each other thinking of the flashback that happened few months ago before engagement.

****Flashback starts****

Venkat: hey subhi.. you ask Mom. If I ask she will say something.

Subhi: wait da.. I will ask. Maa... Sreeja's photo that we have is only of Saree or Chudidhar , can can you try to get one modern dress photo from them if possible. I am the one asking, Venkat did not ask anything.

Venkat, thought he could have directly asked his mom rather than what Subhi did now.

Latha: Already you know the photo story of Sreeja, it took lot of time for them to give us a nice photo and she looked more different in photo and real, why do we need to ask them again, what will they think?

Venkat and Subhi after continuous pestering made her mother agree to it. Latha had a conversation with Sreeja's mother who said Sreeja never wears modern dress as her father does not allow. In fact she does not like wearing modern dress, even jean with long kurti.

When Venkat and subhi came to know this they felt disappointed. Venkat thought how come a girl living in chennai working in mnc does not like to wear modern dress.

He felt that his life is sort of doomed with marrying a girl like Sreeja who is totally unromantic and not interested in common things. He chose not ask anything about this to her to avoid another big lecture on it.

****End of flashback****

The siblings again zoomed the photo which was sent by Sreeja and was awestruck.

It was a photo of Sreeja who was giving a pose leaning on a table with hands at the back , while her legs crossed , wearing an ankle length blue jean with dark navy blue shirt. She had let her hair loose, and her face was devoid of any make up as usual but without bindhi.

The way she was standing and carrying herself in that dress, no one would every say that she is wearing it for the first time.

He called her immediately and asked if it is for real. She agreed to it and said she was just trying out the attires she bought for her onsite.

He felt happy about it and mentally thanked God for paying heed to his wish. Then they had few more general talks and cut the call.

Few days passed, Sreeja had some complications in her travel which was almost cancelled 2 days before her travel. She called Venkat and expressed her concern saying that she lost he hope of travelling.

He gave her affirmative words , encouraging her to not give up and helped her with giving opinions of what to do and whom to reach out to.

Finally after much struggle with her colleagues and the finance team, she managed to get all things sorted out. The first thing she did was to make a call to venkat and thank him after hearing the good news.

Now it is the day of her travel, because of the last minute problems that has happened, she was asked to go back and forth to different offices regarding her forex cards and other documentation related activities so did not even get time to call venkat or anyone for that matter.

It is now 8PM and Sreeja was on her way to her house from office to freshen up and get ready to to catch her flight.

Thinking of making a call she took her mobile to see that it has only 3%. She called Venkat to say that she will be travelling today and will talk once reached.

Venkat attended the call and talked in low voice wishing her safe journey as he was in meeting. Before Sreeja could reply anything , her phone got switched off.

She went to her house wondering if he would mistake her for the call that disconnected.

After reaching home she did not have time to think about him as it was getting late for her. She decided to go early as it is the first time she is travelling and avoid any last minute hiccups and charged both her android and basic mobile set.

She did not get chance to call him as she was continuously given lots of advices by her parents.

Sreeja's mother even started to cry.

Dhanam: how will I manage without you for next 2 months? You have never been alone. Do you still want to go?? Won't you miss me?

Sreeja: maa after I am married I will be completely away from you living in different house. And you are ok with it. Right??what logic is this?

Dhanam: that is different and this is different.

Sreeja: maaaa...

Her father and brother then convinced her mom after which stopped her crying and drove to airport.

Just when she reached airport subhi called her and asked her to wait as they are on their way. She was surprised as she did not expect the entire family there for her sendoff.

She saw her in laws and subhi were present along with her parents except Venkat. Sreeja felt shy and difficult to ask or call him in front of them to know if he is somewhere around or has not come.

Later she bid bye to everyone while her mom started shedding tears. Everyone consoled her. Sreeja then went inside waiting in the queue for luggage checkin.

Venkat did not pick up the call when Sreeja dialled. Her basic mobile set went blank suddenly despite of full charge while she was trying to make the call again.

Feeling irritated she looked back to see her family standing in the visitors area. Her mind was oscillating for some reason. She moved forward in the queue with only 1 person in front of her receiving boarding pass now.

The next move that she took was totally unexpected for herself.
