A Fighters Spirit (Katsuki Bakugo x Female Saiyan Reader)(MHA x DBZ Crossover)

~Chapter 23~

"And now it's time for the first trial!" Midnight announces over all the commotion from Bakugo's "inspiring" speech.

The students settle down and Midnight continues "Onto the "preliminaries" as they're called! Lots of competitors end up choking on their tears here every year!"

She now directs attention to a large screen that shows a spinning wheel that contains possible event options, although it's going too fast to actually read any of them.

"And this year's first round of destiny is...." The wheel comes to a sudden halt and lands on the label with the title 'Obstacle Race' "An Obstacle Race!" Midnight shouts out as the students start getting pumped up including yourself.

"It's a race against all 11 classes! The course is nearly 4km around the stadium! UA always goes on about our freedom on campus hehehe..." you see midnight get a slight mischievous smirk as she is explaining the event "well this is what it's all about! Your free to do whatever you like so long as you stay on the course! So let's get this started!"

All of the students make their ways to the start gate, looking at it now it's really narrow, meaning that this is probably the first obstacle. Everyone is going to try and push through and it's gonna be a hastle to try and make it through the crowd.

"On your marks...."

Luckily for you it won't be a problem

"Get set... GO!"

Everyone rushes forward, trying to push through the crowd and squeeze through the narrow hall way 'just as I predicted' you were more towards the back of the group to begin you stood there for a second just observing the chaos in front of you.

"What's this!? Briefs is just standing there!? Did she get cold feet or not hear the start!?" Present Mic screams over the speakers, drawing people's attention to you.

You let out a slight chuckle as you calmly fly up slightly with your hands in your pockets. You casually fly over the hoard of students in the narrow hall way.

"Looks like Briefs had a trick up her sleeve!"

As you reach the end of the tunnel like hallway you hear a slight commotion behind you. Glancing back you see students frozen to the ground as Todoroki bursts forward, immediately afterwards you see some of your classmates break from the ice and burst forward as well.

You keep flying calmly, it doesn't really matter to you if you don't place first in this round anyways. 'They said this was the first round and that it was like a preliminary round, so this is just to narrow down the amount of students for the next event. They probably will leave a good chuck of us in the competition so I'm good to relax this time around.'

You watch as Todoroki runs forward underneath you and bakugo blasts forward in the air going past you, he's essentially flying like you are but with more force.

Continuing forward you spot multiple large masses approaching your way. From underneath you, you hear many people start to shout that it's the zero point robots from the entrance exam. Some of the students here haven't even seen one since not everyone took the same entrance exam that was specifically catered to the hero course.

'It's not worth it to fight it, it's an obstacle everyone should just find away to get around it'

You watch as Todoroki places his right hand on the ground, a wave of ice shoots out to the robot in front center freezing the entire thing in one go.

You hear people's cheers thinking he took it down and cleared a path for them all based on the looks of the frozen hunk of metal.

But unfortunately for them looks can be deceiving.

As soon as Todoroki passes the robots entirely it falls to the ground everyone seems to turn out alright though luckily enough.

The only ones that got crushed by the large robot was Kirishima and some other boy that looked like it could be his twin, but his quirk looked to be with metal rather than rock.

Looking back forward, you spot Katsuki vault over one of the standing robots. It seems like he had the same idea as you.

Continuing on the course you simply fly past the robots, one of them swats at you but you simply z-vanish out of reach and continue on your way.

Flying farther down you see Todoroki come to a slight halt in front of what looks to be a bottomless pit. The ground is broken into many platforms only connected by tightropes.

You watch as more people seem to catch up, but it's no worries for you, this is just like a stroll in the park really.

Eventually you come across a large open dirt field, as you and some others reach the new location Present Mic announces that it's not just an ordinary field, but rather a mine field instead.

Again not really a problem for you as you just fly past it. A little ways behind you, you see Todoroki and Bakugo pushing and pulling at each other to get ahead. Turns out in your casual fly through the course you managed your way into first place after all.

Facing back forward, you're almost at the end of the mine field

'That looks like the exit'

Just as you finish your thoughts you hear a loud explosion sound off behind you. Turning back around, you see a giant poof of pink smoke, and out of that smoke comes..

"MIDORIYA!?"

You watch as he lands on top of Todoroki and Bakugo, planting his feet on each of their shoulders. He then slams the piece of metal he was still holding from before into the ground causing another explosion that propels him forward and past you!

He rolls to the ground past the mines and sprints for the exit. You continue to fly forward but you remain in second.

"The first one back will be the winner of the first round! And the incoming competitor is..... IZUKU MIDORIYA!"

'He deserves the win for that one. That was awesome! Super smart too I never would have thought about using the obstacles as tools'

You come out from the tunnel and are deemed 2nd place followed by Todoroki and Bakugo respectively.
