Loki's POV
Loki wakes up on the ground. He opens his eyes to see that he is still in the Gap dimension. He looks over to his left and sees Dark Loki's dead body. He sits up and rubs his eyes.
"What the hell?" He feels very different. Not sure what crazy power he might have absorbed from his dark variant. He staggers to his feet and walks back in the direction of the quantum mirror. After what seems like hours of walking, he realizes that he can't find the quantum mirror.
"Fuck!" he yells out loud and stomps his feet in anger. He falls to his knees.
"Think you moron." He mumbles to himself. "Charlotte is going to kill me." He drops his head into his hands and rubs his eyes with the palm of his hands. He can feel tears threatening to fall from his eyes.
"No! I'm not going to fall apart! They need me!" He gets up and starts to pace around.
"Think, Loki, think. I came here through the mirror, and now I can't find it. How did the other me find it?" Loki stops in his tracks. "The other me! That's it!" he takes a breath and tries to access whatever power his dark variant gave him. His hands and eyes start glowing green. His hands start to wave around in the air like they have a mind of their own. Loki can feel something creeping up in his arms when a beam of light leaves his hands. The beam seems to hit something and in a quick flash of light, the quantum mirror appears in front of him.
"Excellent!" He cheers to himself and approaches the mirror. He holds out his finger and whispers.
"Back to Asgard." And his reflection changes to reveal the war room in Asgard. He walks through the mirror to find his brother, Mobius and Strange, asleep in their seats at the large table.
"Hey, wake up!" he yells, and they all jump up in surprise.
"Brother! You have finally returned!"
"Yes, to find you all asleep?"
"What? You have been gone for hours."
"And now I have returned."
"Did you get it?" Strange asks. Loki pulls the book out of his pocket dimension.
"That and more. I had to kill my variant. He wanted the book for himself."
"Were you surprised? He is a Loki, after all." Mobius scoffs.
"We are not all the same!" Loki snaps.
"Yeah, sure. My Loki always said you guys were burdened with glorious purpose. Seems to me, you are doing exactly that."
"My brother is not like them. He has proven himself worthy not only to us but now to a magical book." Thor replies, defending Loki.
"Enough! Strange now that we have this all powerful book. What do we do with it?" Loki turns to Strange with a pissed off glare.
"So, according to legend, this book will give a sorcerer whatever they need to defeat their enemy."
"Ok, so that is not cryptic at all." Mobius mumbles.
"I agree. Strange, what does that really mean? How do we defeat Thanos?"
"We ask it." Strange replies, and Loki places the book on the table. He opens the cover to find small weird writing on the first page.
"Ask of me what you will, but know this. Every spell comes with a price." Loki reads the line.
"Great. More cryptic shit." Mobius says sarcastically.
"Whatever the price. I will pay it. We need to save Charlotte." Loki says, and just then the door to the war room opens. A frantic Sif walks in.
"Apologies, your majesty." She bows to Thor. "Heimdall has warned of a portal opening in at the edge of the forest."
"A portal? We must go investigate." Thor turns to Loki. Loki nods and follows Thor out of the room. Thor uses Mjölnir to fly to the forest while Loki teleports.
"Geez these guys." Mobius grumbles. "So rude." Strange looks over at him.
"What, to join them?" Strange waves his hands in a circle and an orange ring appears out of nowhere, opening a portal to the edge of the forest. He smiles at Mobius.
"Shall we?" he walks through the portal with Mobius right behind him. On the other side of the portal, they are greeted by Thor and Loki. Both gods are standing shocked in place when Mobius notices a red and gold wooden door just standing at the edge of the forest.
"What the hell is that?" Mobius asks them.
"Obliviously, it's a door." Loki quips
"A door to what exactly?" Strange asks.
"We don't know. It's not of Asgard. That's for certain."
"I'm not sure of that, Thor." Loki approaches the door and puts up his hand. He feels the magic radiating from the door.
"This magic, it feels very familiar." And just then, the door slowly starts to open. Loki stands back and conjures his daggers. When the door finally opens, it reveals a very battered-looking Iron Man with both repulsors aimed at Loki.
"Tony!!" Loki yells, drops his daggers and runs up to his friend. He wraps his arms around Stark's body and picks him up.
"Yeah, Lokes, it's me!" Tony laughs. Loki drops him when he sees Pepper and Morgan standing in the frame of the door.
"Lady Pepper, Miss Morgan. I am so happy to see you!" Loki walks up to them and gives them a soft hug.
"We are happy to see you too, Mr. Loki." Morgan says with her tiny voice.
"How is this possible?" Loki asks them.
"You made it possible, buddy. Look." Tony points to the writing on the door. Loki approaches the door and reads it out loud.
"To my friend the Mechanic, this door was provided to you by the one and only God of Mischief." Loki turns back to Tony.
"I don't understand. This was not me."
"Do you know another God of Mischief?"
"Actually..." Mobius says, but Loki cuts him off.
"Tony, where were you? What is on the other side of this door?"
"I'm not sure. Wherever that Thanos guy brought us."
"Wait? Are you telling me you were with Thanos?"
"Yeah. He came to visit us a few times."
"Tony, Thanos as Charlotte."
"What? How the heck did you let that happen?" Tony grumbles.
"Well, how did you let your family be taken?" Loki replies sarcastically.
"Fair point. So, what you are saying is that Charlotte was there with us? On that planet?"
"Yes, and now we have a way to get there."
"So, not that I'm not happy for the help, but is anyone going to explain what the meaning of that message was? And how was it not you?" Tony asks them.
"It was his variant."
"His what?"
"Tony, we have a lot to catch up on. But maybe first you and your family would like some rest and food?"
"Yeah, I suppose. But I want to be on the rescue squad when you go get Charlotte."
"I won't be going." Loki says sadly.
"What?" He says again but stops pushing when he sees the look in his friend's eyes.
"Later. I get it." Tony takes Morgan from Pepper's arms and, before they head back to the palace, Morgan speaks up.
"Mr. Loki. Is Tom Ok?"
"Of course he is, Miss Morgan. Why don't I take you to see the twins before we head to the dining room?"
"Please." Morgan replies.
"Brother. I will ask Sif and the warriors to guard the door until we are ready to leave."
"Thank you, Thor." The group follows Loki and Thor back to the palace.
