You and everyone else headed back to headquarters after the mission was over. Though, after you arrived at headquarters, you were sent to another infirmary for pain medicine and other treatment for your leg. You distinctly remembered falling asleep in the infirmary, but you woke up in your room instead.
You wondered who was selfless enough to carry you to your bed. You rested your head on your mushy pillow, gazing up at your ceiling.
An inevitable feeling of remorse entrenched your mind, as you had to suffer the consequences for your mindless actions. You were starting to regret disobeying Levi's orders because in the end, you only embarrassed yourself. Aside from that, Levi's punishments were quite boring. The only sunlight you were able to get was through your window.
You exhaled, as you started reminiscing about everything in your life—You thought about how your parents practically coerced you into this lifestyle, how young you were when you joined the 104 cadet corps, how your bonds grew with the other scouts, how Levi was always lenient with you ever since you had first joined.
Your train of thoughts came to a halt the moment your heard soft knocks at your door. You were hoping it wasn't Levi, as you still felt too chagrined to be in his presence.
"Come in," You spoke, your voice muffled from slightly hiding your face underneath your covers.
To your surprise, it was Marco entering your room—which made you feel even more sheepish. You stared into his amber eyes, as he held a cordial smile on his face and a tray of food in his hands. You were flustered when you discerned that he didn't show any signs of enmity towards you for almost getting him killed.
"Hey, Y/n. Are you feeling alright?" He questioned, pulling up a chair right next to your bed.
You sat up, "Yeah, I'm fine. Marco, I am so sorry for my blunder yesterday. I owe you big time." You apologized sincerely, hoping that he'd forgive you.
"I guess we owe each other then because you saved my ass too." He replied, beaming at me.
"If I just would've done my job, I wouldn't have put you in that position in the first place." You lowered your eyes, staring at your reflection in the bowl of soup.
"I get it, Y/n. You were just trying to prove yourself to Captain because he was being a prick and I think you did pretty damn well at proving yourself." He smiled, gently patting your back.
Your lips curled into a smile, "If only Levi were as understanding as you. This punishment is going to be brutal." You sighed, slowly eating the warm soup.
"I'm sure. How's your leg?" He queried, examining how prominent your swelling was.
"It's sore. Almost as painful as getting a grapple pierced into your skin." You chuckled, lifting up your shirt to show him the wound the grapple had left, only to realize it was covered in bandages.
Shortly after Levi had left your room, as you remembered him being the last person you saw. You crashed—so, you didn't know who undressed you to wrap up your wounds and who carried you to your room. You had already debunked the idea that Levi could've done it, as he's not that selfless when it comes to other people.
"Ouch," He said, scrunching his nose and lowering his eyes to look at your stomach. "Are you able to walk yet? If not, I can easily snag one of those wheelchairs from the storage unit." He suggested, politely.
"I'm going to have to be wheel-chair bound for a little bit." You awkwardly smiled.
He sighed, "That's unfortunate. Well, I'll be sure to stop by after practice. Levi's having us run laps and clean horse shit all day." He stated, rolling his eyes.
