Leiftan was not happy at all, in fact he was seething. He was pacing back and forth on the balcony with Miiko looking at him anxiously.

The cold night brought even colder winds, her black coat barely protected her from it.

"I'm sorry." She said.

"For the thousandth time, it's not your fault!" He stopped and turned towards her. He tried to calm himself to not startle her. "All is not lost, my dear!"

He walked closer as tears overflowed and rolled down her gorgeous ivory cheeks. "Do you think Nevra is right about him being Lance's killer?"

"No, he's paranoid and he's putting all this barely solid nonsense into your head! You have enough to worry about my friend, please don't listen to him!"

"He's a guard leader, I have to listen to him, don't I?" He sighed, kneeling down in front of her. "I can't believe this...."

"It will be alright. Fae have been through worse." She wiped her tears and looked to the city below. "See? They keep living on! It's okay, we can fix this!"

"I'm not convinced."

"You don't have to be convinced, you just have to keep going. Have faith!" He smiled. He has a beautiful smile. It shines so bright you can't even see his pain.

Miiko smiled and settled her nerves. "I suppose there's nothing to do but go forward." She said.

"Indeed."

Once the mental health check was done with they parted ways and went about their business.

...

The sky was churning as it always was this time of year. S'cheher is getting sick of it already and she's only been here for a few days. She turned the desk lamp on and got to tinkering with the new arms first prototype.

Lance silently observed as she worked the tiny screws into the framework. She had sculpted the exterior out of a weird material that became soft from heat and hardened at room temperature. She said it would not last a day of Lance's shenanigans but it's a nice start to figure out the design.

"I was thinking about making this one battery powered. Do you think you know how to use it?"

"A what powered?"

"It's an energy reserve inside the arm that powers it, it draws from the battery until it's depleted then you will have to replenish the energy within the battery or change the battery."

"Interesting, so it won't take from my body's energy."

"Yes, exactly." And it will force Lance to regularly take it off, which will be good for him. "I got you new liners btw, see that box on the shelf?"

"No, it's literally pitch black in this fucking room."

"Of course... Forgot about that." He kept watching for a few seconds before asking something.

"Hey S'cheher. You can't show your hair to men, right?"

"Yup."

"What is a man?" She groaned.

"Well, I don't really care if men see my hair. Anyone who doesn't have balls is free to have a look."

"Interesting. Dragons have cloacas y'know. Am I a man to you?"

"You're a tall, 25 year old baby to me."

"Hmm. Okay."

"I could be bald and you would never know."

"Are you bald, bestie?"

"You'll never know."

"But if you're bald you wouldn't have to hide your hair."
