It's a beautiful summer day, the trees swayed in the breeze and birds sung their love songs.

"Hey, here's your thingy dad borrowed from you." Said the girl, digging in her backpack for it. She walked all the way out here on the dirt road, she quite enjoys her time in the countryside.

"Thanks, you're an angel." Her uncle told her. "You see that wrench over there? The yellow one? Put it away, I borrowed it from your dad."

"Right." She went to grab it, it's a big frikin wrench, no doubt it was used to fix a bolt on the tractor. Right now, the man was deeply concentrated on patching a hole on the side of his boat. If he went even a month without going fishing he'd surely perish... it's called early onset macho uncle toughman-itis. Don't google it, you won't find anything.

"How are the horses?" She asked.

"They're good. You should go check them out, they've been grazing in the woods all morning. I'm sure they'd love to see you."

"Oh my God yes! Bye!" She bolted out the barn like a racecar.

"Elise! Wait!" Her uncle called out, but she was too far to even hear.

Her Nike shoes carried her to her destination, her pink dress as well as her sweater slid down her shoulder. Her backpack hung on with half a strap as she flew through the deep tire tracks. She heard a neigh from the side and decided to take a shortcut.

She managed to get through, and found a clearing with soft grass and strange trees.

"Hey." Someone said. She jumped in fear, still breathing heavy.

"Who's that??" She turned around and saw a raven on a log.

"Ravens can talk, I forgot..." She looked around and noticed that the trees were all full of Ravens, but they were quiet. Birds are rarely quiet. "Weird."

She slowly stepped toward the raven, she felt a call of some sorts, but before she could reach it, she was struck by common sense and she turned around. 'This is bullshit. I shouldn't do this'

She walked back, freaked out, hairs staning up on her whole body. This place stinks of an omen.

...

Valkyon sat down on his usual spot at the canteen, scrambled eggs and toast on his plate. He missed Kassvin. He always thought of himself as an eternal bachelor, a homewrecker, a whore. He's not the clingy type and Kassvin is nothing special, he's not any more unique than anyone else. Valkyon usually finds himself a pretty one, lures them into his arms and they have a night to remember.

Kassvin was weird, he only agreed to date the guy because the little blavian was so cute, practically begging him for attention. He thought it would be a shallow relationship, just like the one when they were kids, but no. Valkyon is so starved for real love that he couldn't help himself.

He felt so guilty at first, he went into the relationship thinking it would be one sided, but no. He thought he was following his dick but he was in fact following his heart. Just didn't know it...

He looked up as a dark shape went past him, a sweet smell filled his senses as well.

Nice cologne.

"May I?" Asked Nevra.

"F'course."

The vampire sat down. He had a bowl of porridge with tea. "So um."

"Sorry 'bout your eye. My threat still stands though." He repeats this every few days, reminding the man of his impairment. The new eyepatch is quite handsome though.
