The glowing green of the demons eyes, the cold tendrils of void, he was smothered. Lance kicked but that wasn't going to do anything to save him. He opened his eyes, Leiftan's face was but a mask, his body is a puppet, this isn't him, he would never hurt anyone like this. Kassvin stopped immediately when he saw how his friend suffered, pinned to the floor by a horrible power.
"Have I made myself clear?" The demon said. Lance nodded, desperate for a breath to save his life. "I have a hard time believing you. Time and time again, you have failed me. This most recent mistake of yours could spell our downfall. Your brother has a great deal of power." It let go of his neck. "Say, how would you fix this?"
He gasped, finally he could get air. "I don't know. I think Valkyon doesn't want to get in our way. He helped me." It had Leiftans body stand in a weird way, as if it didn't quite understand how a person behaved. That deeply unnerved Kassvin as he watched from where he stood. He anticipated that there would be blood, but he didn't expect this much. He could smell it from the bottom of the stairs.
"Well of course he helped you, didn't you two join the guard as inside men? You silly thing, I'm more concerned that he'll try to get rid of me. He has a track record for getting rid of your bullies."
"You're no bully, I follow you willingly." Lance sat up, slowly.
"Oh, that's right! You do! But he would never believe that. If he banishes me, unfortunately you'll never get your arm back, will you? So keep away from him." The demon knelt down to be level with him.
"Okay, I will try." The demons had a foul aura, but it just got even worse. Sickly sweet cadaver scent wafted from Leiftan as his body was defiled in this possession.
"Trying is not good enough. Will you promise me?" One should be careful when promising anything to a demon, but what choice does he have?
"I promise." The demon stood up, expression neutral.
"Good. Well, I think our meeting was sufficient, I shall see myself out." Leiftans body went stiff, nearly falling over before he could control it once again. He groaned and slowly and sort of clumsily lowered himself to sit down by Lance, who was already offering a helping hand.
Kassvin rushed there as well. He was armed with a few first aid supplies, which he immediately deployed on Lance's bleeding wounds. His forehead had a huge gash, it would almost certainly leave a scar. Leiftan dry heaved from how his senses were messed up. He felt as though the whole world was falling apart and he needed to lay down. He needed to throw up from the dizziness, but he couldn't. He could feel a hot palm on his forehead, it was as if he was being burned by it. He heard Kassvin say something about his skin being cold, but it all sounded so messed up. He felt terrible, not just because his hands were used to hurt a friend, but also because he felt as though Lance needed this help more.
"Hey, it's okay, everything is okay." Lance said after a while. They were trying to warm his body up. It burns.
"I know. I've been through it lots of times." He said, surprisingly cohesive for someone who currently can't tell which way is up and which way is down. "I need painkillers."
"I'll get them." Kassvin rushed out of the room, leaving the two of them alone.
His vision was finally back to somewhat normal and he looked towards his partner in crime. "You're bleeding."
"Really? I didn't notice!" They weakly chuckled. Leiftan stood up, slowly and carefully. Being guided by Lance's hand. He leaned in and kissed the dragon, who welcomed it.
"This could be a lot more romantic..."
"It's the best that we have, I'm afraid. This place is notthe most romantic."
