Glad you're here, welcome to whatever this Pinterest writing prompt idea turns out to be, see ya on the other side.

The stony sidewalks were bustling with people on this very important day in the kingdom of Anzen. Every year, a new knight would be supposedly blessed by the gods themselves. That same knight would be chosen to invade the Demon Lord's palace-you know what, you'll figure it out, let's take this from Samarra's point of view

A blonde child, no older than five years old, skips around the house in her dazzling tiny dress which bounced as she did, circling around a table and singing like a songbird in melodious tunes to herself

"Go-ing to the king-dom, go-nna see the king, go-ing to the pa-lace-BA DA BA DA BING" She sings her tiny heart out

A young teen in a causal red hoodie chuckles as he watches the girl's performance. He sips a magic-infused Redbull (They're called "Luckiest" but let's not kid ourselves, they're just Rebulls with more caffeine)

"Bassie! Come oooon, you know you wanna sing, too!" The energy-filled girl cheers, continuing her parade around the table

"Nah, nah, I'm good, I'd probably screw up your melody" The black-haired teen can't wipe that smile off his face, watching the girl have the time of her life

The girl stops dead in her tracks, "...Mel-...ode-...ee? What's that?" Her face scrunches up in absolute confusion

The half-adult taps on the counter to organize his thoughs, "Oh, uh...have you-uh-...oh-have you heard mom sing in the shower? With dad sometimes?" The teen gestures to one of the doors, sipping on his Luckiest right after

"Mhm!" The innocent child nods quickly and repeatedly

"So you know how..." The teen squints at the ceiling... "bad they sound together, then, yeah?" The teen leans on the kitchen counter

"Yep!" The girl understands so far...probably

"Basically, they have a bad melody, so a good melody..." The teen rolls his wrist around, trying to lead her to the answer

"Uh...it would be....be....uhm...hm..." The child puckers her lips, furrowing her brows

"Think about it...if mom and dad sound bad when they sing together and that's a bad melody, then a good melody..." The teen creaks his head up and down

"...Uh....hmmmmm...OH, OH, OH, OH, OH-WHEN I SING?" The child wonders, giddily bouncing her knees

"Exaaaactly, good singing" The teen beams, clapping the back of his hand

"YEAAAH" The girl throws her fists in the air, dancing out of celebration

"Kids, is your--Bastion, what are you doing?" An elegant woman in a scarlet dress exits from another room, a white corsage pinned to her chest. Her brown hair tied-up in a large bun

"I don't wanna go to the big ceremony, it's not like dad's gonna get the blessing or whatever, anyway" The teen rolls his eyes, crossing his arms

The little girl leans on the counter beside Bastion

"He's worked so hard for this, of course, he is, he's counted how many-" The woman glances at the small child

The little bean beams

"...Things...he's...done" The brunette slowly nods, not wanting to taint the child's purity, yet

"Yeah, yeah, he says he's got the highest-...'red rum' count for...'the scary claw guys' but I don't think that 10,000 would be the highest out of everybody" Bastion disagrees, not wanting to taint the girl's purity, period
