The duo keeps strolling through the town, passing shops and crowds of people
"What was going on back there?" Sam peers up to Ray, furrowing her brows
"I over-reacted...I just-I hate people like that-I just f#cking despise it, b!tches thinking they own the world, thinking they're more important than everyone else...every time I see it, something inside of me just f#cking snaps" Ray elaborates, his expressions changing from fury to disgust, gesturing around
"Well, that makes sense, I don't like it either, but sometimes you need it or else there's anarchy and stuff" Sam argues
Nera squawks
"You've both got a point, sure, without a guiding light there is eternal darkness...but that light can be too blinding, people like you and me still matter and are important-take the king, for example, he governs all of these laws, has to be the figurehead, blah blah blah, but he acts like he owns everything around him, he's got this whole freaking-freaking vanguard of knights around them that are willing to die for some stupid reason...they never consider that these people are actual-well-PEOPLE" Ray emphasizes, starting to get heated about this topic, so much to the point some people start to look at him as he passes by
"Is there something wrong with the king?" Sam tilts her head
"The whole system's corrupt-but what does my lonely opinion matter? We're here anyway" Ray shakes his hand, heading inside a brick building
"A weapon's shop? Why are we here?" Sam wonders, following close behind Ray
"I know the owner here, there's a dungeon he knows about that should be a good starting place for you to start grinding, feel free to check out the cool weapons, if you buy anything, make sure you're a high enough level" Ray continues walking, passing through the weapon displays and heading up to the counter
"Oh-kay..." Sam sighs as she starts walking around the store
She starts looking through all the swords on display, gripping Agustus' sword handle tightly, biting the skin off her lips for-...well, no reason in particular
Sam decides to pass the time by reading through the spell book Roxxane gave to her, "...Wait, that does?" She starts focusing heavily on the "fire-focused" magic
Nera stares at the book with her
"...Huh, it increases your temperature...what does water do, then?" Sam mutters, skimming through the sections
Nera squawks once Sam reaches the "water-focused" magic
"Blah blah blah-here...strains your muscles, rata rata....increased as more water is around...so then is fire better when the sun's out?" She flips back through to the "fire-focused" section
"...Wait, the sun and how hot you are? So...huh...-" Sam starts furiously flipping through the pages again, now looking at the "earth-focused" magic
"...What're we reading?" Ray comes out of nowhere, peering over her other shoulder
"Oh, jus-" Sam cocks her head at Ray, giving her a slight feeling of a head-rush
Ray simply smiles
Nera continues trying to read the book
"It's-it's uh-it-magic" Sam stammers
"...You wanna kill the demon lord and you're doing homework?" Ray tilts his head in confusion, furrowing his brows slightly
"Uh...y-mhm" Sam nods violently
"Alright, just let me know when you're ready, I'll be outside" Ray waves as he leaves
