"Valk, you can tell me what's wrong" Roxxane shakes her head
"I-I just-I-oh god, I can't do that again, I'm never...I'm never doing that again...it...oh f#ck" Valk quickly shakes her head
"Lin, you wanna go to the bar?" Chrys knocks on Lin's metal shoulder
"What are you-" Lin starts
"Good idea, I wish I thought of it" Chrys drags Lin away
"Valk, hey, what's wrong?" Sam finally reaches Valk, crouching down in front of her
"I...I'm sorry, I don't know if I can make it with you to fight the Demon Lord...I'm so sorry" Valk lets out a deep sigh, covering her face
"Valk, that's not what we're worried about, we're worried about you" Ray crosses his arms, standing behind Sam
Valk stays silent
"...We can't help you if you don't let us" Roxxane shakes her head with a sigh
Valk lets out a small sigh, "...I...I killed...I killed my...my brother because of magic...I just-...I couldn't...I couldn't control it" Her voice starts to break
Roxxane's eyes widen, her jaw dropping
Sam has the exact same expression
"...Did you mean to kill them?" Ray questions
"Of course, I didn't...but...I...I freaked out..." Valk slowly shakes her head
"I thought you were adopted?" Roxxane questions
Ray facepalms
"That's...why I..." Valk sighs
"How old were you?" Sam asks, gesturing to Valk
"...Five..." Valk mutters
"Then there's no way that you would have any real control over yourself, you barely knew how to count" Roxxane shakes her head, giving Valk a soft expression
"I...it's...it's still my fault...he's...dead" Valk rubs her eyes, feeling water building up at the bottom of her eyelids
"It's whoever's dumba$$ it was to leave a spellbook close to you at that age" Ray shakes his head
"Valk...you can't blame yourself for something like that, like Ray said, it's whoever thought it was a good idea to keep something like that close to you" Roxxane lets out a guttural sigh
"But...I still...I killed my brother...I killed him" Valk sniffs
"Lemme see if this works, hold on" Ray stares at the sky, muttering to himself
"What-huh?" Sam glances over her shoulder
"If you really killed your brother, why'd you do it?" Ray questions, staring at Valk
"Ray-what the hell are you doing?" Roxxane cocks her head to him
"Why'd you kill your brother?" Ray crouches down to Valk
"I...what?" Valk creaks her gaze up to Ray
"Why'd you kill your brother?" Ray repeats, squinting at her
Valk takes a hard second to process what he asked
"Well?" Ray raises an eyebrow
"Because...I...didn't...know what I was doing? I don't know what you want me to say?" Valk tilts her head, furrowing her brows
