A lot can happen in three years. Yes. Three Years.
Three years that changed the life of Lydia and Jordan. Three years have gone by and their now 4-year-old daughter Aria seems to be what is keeping these two together. Three years of pain. Three years of regret. Three years of supervised visits. Three years of Jordan resenting the woman he fell in love with. Three years of unresolved issues.
Three years. Living in New York for the past three years had its perks. Close to her family and raising her 4-year-old daughter in her town.
"Aria Brielle Poole, your bags better be packed. Olivia is outside." Lydia says wiping down the counters of her kitchen. Lydia hears small feet padding the floor and she looks to see Aria running into the kitchen with her small suitcase, iPad, and jacket all in one hand.
"I'm ready!" Aria says smiling at her mother who couldn't help but crack a smile at the young girl who looked just like her father. A splitting image of him.
Lydia wipes her hands off and walks over to her daughter, taking the iPad and other things out of her hand. "Are you excited to spend the weekend with him?" Lydia says kneeling down to adjust her Essentials hoodie.
"Yes! Daddy is going to be playing!" She says smiling at Lydia and she laughs. "It's a Poole party!" Aria adds and Lydia shakes her head before standing up. The front doorbell to their New York apartment rings. The rings again!
"I'm about to beat her ass," Lydia mumbles to herself walking to the front door to see Olivia standing there. "I should beat your ass," Lydia says and Olivia rolls her eyes.
"Oh please. Where is my niece?" She asked walking past Lydia as she closed the door. "Auntie Liv!" Aria says running towards Olviia.
"Hi, my little munchkin! Are you ready for our weekend trip? We get to see Uncle Klay and his fiance Laura!" Olivia says smiling.
"And Uncle Steph and Auntie Esha!" Aria adds and both girls smile. "And my cousins! I can't wait to see them!" Aria says looking up at her mom as she smiled down at her.
"Yes! I'm excited too but we gotta head out so we can catch our flight." Olivia says as Lydia hands her the small suitcase that had all the things Aria needed for the weekend to spend with her dad.
"I'm most excited to see Daddy too!" She says doing a little dance and Lydia smiles. "And I know Daddy is excited to see you," Lydia says kneeling down to her daughter.
"I want you to be very good for Auntie Liv. I don't want to hear anything about you misbehaving, you hear me?" Lydia says to Aria and she nods.
"Yes, Mommy." She says and wraps her small arms around Lydia. "Are you sure you can't come?" Aria mumbles and Lydia sighs rubbing her back.
"Look maybe next time. Mommy has a lot of work to do." Lydia says pulling away and smoothing the flyaways on Aria's hair.
"But guess what?"
"What?"
"When you get back, I have a few little surprises for you but only if you are good!" Lydia says smiling watching as he daughter jumped for joy. "You got it!" Lydia stands up and makes sure to give Olivia all the important documents that Aria needed.
"Her EpiPen is in her backpack in the front zip, if needed," Lydia says handing all of her daughter's bag to Olivia. "And Jordan knows where it is too." She adds and Liv nods.
"Look short weekend trip and we will be back," Liv says smiling and Lydia nods looking down at her daughter as she had been indulged in her iPad. Thanks to Jordan.
